It’s been a while since I posted on here but I’ve been away busy with life !
I’ve created a new sniper montage video and this time I’ve made my very own multiplayer intro screen. Most people don’t even notice as they think it’s part of the game, think it’s the original multiplayer load screen lol
Anyways as always looking for hints and tips on video editing, let me know what you think and what I could do better.
Enjoy !
*Admins, sorry wasn't sure if I should submit this as fiction or game play but it has both so went game play.*
Well it has also been awhile since I have posted here and in the spirit of this, I will give you my comments on your montage!
Like the music choice as well as your custom intro screen. But thematically, I don’t know how it relates to the montage except as just showing off your design.
The pacing of your editing is good and fits well with the music choice. However what I feel was missing was a variety of editing transitions from kill to kill. If you look at other montages, it gives a fresher feel than just the stale “cut-cut-cut”. This can also lend itself with the theme of your montage which brings me to my next note.
I really like what you did with listing the gamertags of your kills. But kinda what I was saying before with bringing fresher editing transitions, an idea that I had was incorporating this “kill list” through out the montage. An example, highlighting the name of the kill with the actual kill clip would be cool and keep cutting to the list so that as the montage goes on, we are following the kill list. This along with a variety of editing transitions I feel would bolster this theme of the kill list which would freshen up the video and set your montage apart from the rest of the pack which is what you want. As well as keeping each kill interesting and apart of a whole.

> Good work iKoN113!
Wicked idea with the kill list, I’m going to try something along that line for my next one ! Also a fair point in regards to the transitions. I’ll see if I can come up with some nonstandard ways of transitioning from one clip to another, maybe incorporating the kill list.
Zeno64 sorry do you mind watching my ascension beam video as well and giving me your thoughts on that ? I’m not going shamelessly plug my channel here by posting links all over the place, so if you have a chance it one of only three videos I have on YouTube that would be great. Again I wanted to do something different with that one so it’s more a story and I think the montage in that one is explained by the intro speech.

Don’t mind at all. Here are my notes.
Intro:
The audio mixing I feel was a little off. The music I feel was mixed to loud and would drown out a little of your audio narration. An idea that I also have with your audio narration was maybe trying to change up your voice into a cool sound effect. For example, adding a reverb, changing your voice to be more Robotic (A.I., Promethean), Alien (Elite, Brute, Grunt), etc. But in general, I feel like the intro wasn’t needed, as I much preferred the pacing of the video once it kicked off with the music. A potential fix for this would be kinda what I said with your last video, in working the ascension theme throughout instead of just leaving it at the front.
Main Video:
Music choice, while good, in my opinion is over used on montages. I would look and see if there is a piece of music that is more unique and also more fitting with the Ascension theme. And again, using a variety of transitions instead of the simple cutting would help freshen up the video.
This link is a good example of the points I am illustrating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlQWuI8nnOg Overall I think your main strength is your editing pacing and fitting with the music you choose. And I like that you are trying to deliver something out of the box with your videos. Nice work!
