CUSTOM MAPS. Inapropriate Linked images

Hello HaloVerse
Im a Concerned Parent and Big Halo fan.
I love Halo 5. But I do not play it with my son.
I don’t allow my kid the chance to view explicit and lude images.
My self and all my friends have agreed to not let our children play halo 5 and other games with such images.
Until they are 19 years of age. I also heard of numerous other parents doing the same thing through my sons school and other activities.

SUGGESTION:
Create a new Feature that puts all images through a 1 week REVIEW and APPROVAL process monitored by 343 and Microsoft Staff.
When this happens. I’m pretty sure the number of players and Halo 5 Purchases will INCREASE.

When looking through Custom Map files. I often come across Maps with linked images of:

  • 18+ Anime FAN SERVICE pictures.
  • Scantily clad Women. Most of which are pirated images from -Yoink- Stars and XXX Web cam Models.
  • Sexually explicit poses suggesting acts of lude behavior.
  • Partially exposed genitalia.
  • Half the fan service pictures have female subjects that are Minors performing the above listed acts.

I used to work for a Victims Services Job. So believe me when it comes to the next part of this post.

I’m pretty sure posting these pics on Halo 5 goes against the **"**343 Code of Conduct."
Other than the fact that most these images are illegally downloaded in the 1’st place.
If any real XXX models notice their pictures have been posted on a site or forum without permission and purchase.
The poster and the company that own the site can each receive a $10,000 - $20,000 FINE and 2 - 5 year Jail time.
PIRACY Distribution of uncontracted and or Explicit Materials. Criminal / Indictable offense.
the number of images I’ve seen suggest; $100,000 - $200,000 in fines for 343 Studios.

Posting such images on a public forum that MINORS have access to, is considered.
"COHERSION OF A MINOR/S, TO VIEW EXPLICIT OR LUDE MATERIAL." That is a Criminal / Indictable offense in Majority of all Countries
You may receive a: $150,000 - $400,000 Fine and 15 - 25 years in jail. If you cant afford the fine. Its a double life sentence up to 70 years.
There are ways more charges than the ones I’ve listed.

I hope that you all read, agree and pass on the word.
Lets do our best to improve Halo for our Kids.

There’s a report feature that you can use to report those inappropriate pics. It’s cool that you’re being proactive, but I think 19 is a bit extreme considering they probably already been exposed to lots of adult things way worse than those images well before that age if they have Internet access that you aren’t in control of which I highly doubt they’ll mention to their parents.

we shouldn’t have to report pics. Microsoft invented Picture approval process programs. this should make sure that the pictures don’t get put up in the first place. then its one less offense to get the ban hammer on.

Posting my thoughts from the locked thread:

Custom maps are the responsibility of whoever created them. It would be quite the stretch to implicate 343 in anything like what you are suggesting merely because they provide the space for such images or videos to be shared.

Just a suggestion: perhaps let your kid play H5 without letting them go to the customs browser? This is the first I’ve ever heard of any issues like this whatsoever, but if it’s such a big problem, then don’t let your kids use that feature. H5 is the most kid-friendly Halo game in the history of Halo. There’s plenty for them to enjoy outside the customs browser.

I can’t speak to the under aged stuff because, as I said, this is the first I’ve heard of anything like this. But human trafficking is a very serious offense, so if it is happening through something as innocuous as a custom games browser, then I’m shocked I have heard nothing about this.

For the moment I’m afraid just reporting any images like those that you see is the only option.

I never even seen an image in a custom game.
