I doubt that I’ll be going back to Halo 4 after only 2 months of playing it. Custom loadouts and ordinance drops have been introduced to cater for Call of Duty players and it’s the cancer that’s killing Halo. I seriously thought Reach was bad but now I’ll take it over Halo 4 any day. Unless 343 introduce a playlist that takes out these features, I won’t be coming back.
Also, map design is pretty bad by itself and if they introduce forge maps into the game like reach, there is no return.
Don’t even get me started on instant respawn and the kill cam.
Back to Halo 3 and Reach it is for me.
They’ve already said they’re adding playlists that remove these features, we’ll just have to see how they turn out.
When is this suppose to be released?
What about random weapon drops i hate that, no map control if this is the new halo. halo 5 will not sell very well on the nexgen xbox people will have a bad taste in their mouths if i was 343i i would be scared very scared
> What about random weapon drops i hate that
They’re not Random
They’re always in the same spots, at the same times.
> When is this suppose to be released?
I haven’t done enough reading to know specifically, and I’m too lazy to
But what I understand is they’re basically planning to slowly add playlists over the next weeks and months, and eventually be done with their Ranking System completely by April.
I dont even play halo online just customs on maps i made and i payed €100 for a game lesson learned don’t buy a game on the day it comes out wait and see two months and see IGN gave this game a 9.8 what i would give this game a 5 fix the MM 343 make it like Halo 3 not call of dudy reach 4
I was like you guys and totally didn’t see this, but thought I’d post it here so you guys can have a read: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst182645_Upcoming-Competitive-Playlist.aspx
Essentially it’ll get rid of most of the problems a lot of us have with the game.
Some early details on this playlist:
4 vs 4
Pre-set game loadouts
Forced respawn timers
No instant respawn
Ordnance on re-supply timers
Join-in-progress off
No split-screen play
Friendly fire on
Max party size 4 with big party matching enforced
No guests allowed
After a forum user pointed me to this, I had to hold my breath because that’s pretty much everything I wanted. I will see how successful this playlist is and that will determine my fate with Halo 4.
Cater to call of duty players? What a joke.
Call of Duty players get much stronger things for much higher risks. They don’t get lucky rolls, or the fact that their points carry over death.
You win it or you die. Halo 4?
It’s like catering to everybody except the Competitive community and casual community of everyone, and focusing on the noobs.
Thanks man, I read it and it looks… better than what Halo 4 is now.

No, it’s not a joke and he’s absolutely right. A lot of us hardcore Halo fans hate the ordnance crap (I’m one of those) because it’s too random and takes away the skill factor. It caters to the COD crowd, because it’s VERY similar to the Care Package off Call of Duty. You even have a perk that lets you re-do the ordnance choices if you didn’t get what you liked. Sound like COD yet anyone? H4 was a copy of paste of a successful market shooter not to appeal to the fans, but to the MASS audience. In essence, Halo sold out. The fact that they had to hire an outside company to tell them about the Halo Universe (this is when we were reassured that the Franchise was in the hands of fans. Do fans need an outside source to tell them about the Universe they’re suppose to love? No.)

No problem dude, I posted it for us man. That flickered a little ray of hope that it may end being the Halo that I want. I’ll just have to wait and see Mid-Feb.
