Halo: Reach has included many options for Forge and game-types, including melee damage and assassination immunity. However, the biggest flaw in those is the fact that those options are unable to be changed in-game, causing every player in Symmetrical game-types to suffer from identical statistics. This severely limits the customization ability of players, such as destroying the dynamic aspect of Custom Games. Another sad example of this is in Infection. One reason why Alpha Zombies are unable to be created is due to the lack of load-out traits. Initial zombies are capable of choosing their own load-outs(Tier 3 Load-outs), but are tied to the same statistics as newly infected individuals. If traits are added, a variety of new game-modes could be created.
Here’s two examples of the issue:
- Load-outs only have a choice of name, weapons, grenades and equipment.
- Load-outs are tied to specific tiers per, some of which are unused in other game-types
Here’s what I propose:
- Load-outs can have set Player Traits such as Shields, Damage, Melee Damage etc. Game-type traits can also be set
- Load-outs can have deployment limits, reducing the value by 1 per spawn. After 0, the player must spectate
- The above option could be set to global or local, setting whether it is player specific, team specific or for all players
- Load-outs can have a selection limit, limiting how many players can use it at a time. This allow VIP
- Load-outs can have custom names, but the censor filter still appears and words are limited to 7 letters
- The option to spawn in a vehicle and the ability to lock or unlock it, allowing or disallowing entry and exit of it
- The ability to have heavy weapons such as turrets as a starting weapon, with or without the ability to drop it
