I have played Halo 4 since the day it came out. At first, I bought a lot of Mountain Dew and peed a lot. Now that the fun of grinding like it’s WoW is over. I miss the level of intimacy that Halo 3 provided. Does anyone else miss the part where everyone would get on halo just to talk to each other? I do. I wan’t to start a league of humans who play custom games with each other. Feel free to chat me up on the box if you’re interested! (CptAwsmPants)
Custom games are still going I couldn’t really say if there is less or more than reach but I know for certain Customs are going strong still sure the custom/forge community got -Yoink- on again by the Devs but we will persevere.
I’m just going to throw it out there.
I’ve been playing halo 4 every day since the day it came out. I’m not even bored at ALL with it. I’ve been hosting custom games every week on friday and saturday @ 10pm central time. I know a lot of people who play custom games and are having fun every week. You must not have any fun people on your friends list if you’re not doing anything more then just matchmaking.
I barley play matchmaking anymore (I’m not saying I hate it) Because I have a ton of fun in Custom games and Spartan Ops. and matchmaking always has the same experience I guess over the years matchmaking has just gotten stale. It happens in every Halo game IMO.
I’ve completed 1121 Matchmaking games and 506 Custom games…doesn’t seem like they are non-existent to me.
Ohh, well I am definitely in all of the wrong places. Thanks!

You should really just start a custom game and invite your recent players you should get a game going if that doesn’t work you can also sign up at HaloCustoms.com
While the custom game options suck huge, slippery, red lollipops, the custom game commounity is still going strong. They always find a way. Even with these crappy options, I’ve played some pretty fun game types.

I’ve honestly played some better gametypes in Halo 4 than I had in Reach and 3, despite the lack of certain options. Personal ordinance can actually add a lot to a custom gametype (I’m using it to make an RPG-like gametype where leveling up grants you the option of a random ability, grenades, or a power weapon) and I’m working on an Assassin’s Creed gametype using Regicide, where only killing the King (who isn’t marked by a Waypoint) will earn you points, in addition to a Medieval Dominion class-based team gametype, where Knights have swords and Hardlight Shields, Archers have railguns and extra ammo, Berserkers have infinite sprint and gravity hammers, and Spellcasters can summon auto-sentries (damage settings are tweaked to make the sword and railgun 2-hit kills, while keeping the auto-sentry somewhat useful, and all abilities are infinite)
Here’s hoping for an actual Forge environment and decent Custom settings in the future update. :\

Here’s hoping but the custom community will pull through and have actually produced some amazing maps in the mess that is Halo 4s forge.
I’m in the same situation as OP.
The nice people I used to play with on H3 and Reach don’t play Halo 4 for the most part, or not at the same time as me anyways.
Hit me up!
Halo 4’s customs and forge may blow compared to Reach, but that won’t stop me from making maps.
