3 Reasons why custom games playlist will never happen in Halo 5
- 343i is too focused on pushing Warzone. - 343i wants to keep it’s main playlists (Slayer, Arena, etc) as populated as possible. - It will threaten the population of 343i’s weekend social playlists.Let me say that I am completely in favor of a custom games playlist, but seeing this from 343i’s perspective (something a lot of Waypoint users can’t wrap their heads around that business works different) I can understand why they won’t do it. The most realistic thing I can see is pre-approved map variants and gametypes made by the community such as a “community weekend social” playlist much like previous Halo’s “Action Sack” playlist.
So you want to get “rewarded” for doing something that requires (mostly) no skill.

How much have you had to drink tonight?

Just as confused as you are.
i dont get what swiftpup means by “rewarded”. The main reason i believe they wont put customs into a playlist is simply because customs would provide everyone with so much more than warzone or arena thus everyone would hop to customs, and warzone/arena activity would most likley decline. To me personally warzone isnt fun it feels like a chore to me and takes too long most of the time. At least customs provide some new maps/gametypes/variety and are usually pretty fun.
We, the community know everything! We know 343s every move.
Well damn, if we do how come people didn’t tell me he story was going to be bad and not as good as the advertisements? Could have saved $60.
In reality we don’t know -Yoink-. 343 is not here to piss us off. Just sometimes bye make bad mistakes.
Not very many people have been asking for a Custom Games Playlist. Almost all the discussion related to this is with regards to a Custom Games Browser. Being placed automatically into a random custom game sounds awful. Ideally the host would have an option to make his session Public, and indicate what type of lobby it is (competitive, minigame, race, variety, etc.). Then people could look for hosts playing the type of lobby they are interested in, and make a choice based on player count and what not. Obviously a lot of thought would have to go into it to work well, but that’s the basic premise that most people want I think. Something like that would barely compete with actual matchmaking playlists.

Yup, I want a custom game browser, not a playlist.
i’ve accepted that a custom game browser isn’t going to happen with 343, it’s just not
i’d settle for a couple community forge playlists (maybe team arena, BTB, action sack)
