I swear, if other people don’t see what I see my volcano is gonna erupt.
In my opinion in Halo 4 they have completely ruined custom games. Yes, for people who just want to play slayer or another default game type it is excellent, but for those of us who liked to spend hours and hours playing ridiculous gametypes such as Hot Pursuit, Demolition Derby, Cops and Robbers and races.
Here are some problems that I came across that I think definitely need fixing:
There is no option in the ‘game options’ for KOTH to allow hills to be captured with vechiles (There goes demolition derby).
In the flood game type there is no option to change the flood model back to spartan so the infected can pick up weapons, abilities and grenades (Ruined duck hunt, cops and robbers, dig to china E.T.C).
There is no race game type, at all. This just sent us back to Halo 3 forge, I mean what the ****.
Active camo and is stuffed up, either way to obvious or not obvious enough (there goes ghost busters, but the flood model destroyed that anyway).
You can’t allow teleporters on flood (bye bye dig to china and many many other infection game types).
Dominion is way to hard to set up for a reasonably complicated dominion map.
Banshees are way to slow, meaning no epic chases.
They completely removed reverants which were one of my favorite vehicles, along with removing any flying UNSC vechiles, no pelicans, falcons or hornets.
We need a ‘sandbox’ type map that is designed for the creation of maps without just general slayer or other multiplayer game type in mind. We need Forge World, I don’t care how they get it to us even DLC but we just need a bigger flatter map.
These are just some of the problems I came across during trying to recreate some of the popular gametypes from Halo: Reach. I mean, 343, you added so much great stuff to forge and custom games, ordinance, mantis, dominion, trait zones, gravity volumes, a massive variety of maps, better physics, the list goes on, but why add great stuff and take the other great stuff away? Until you have fixed this, and I think I speak for a lot of people here, your custom games are pathetic.
i do think you can change the model of the flood as a spartan. just change appearance to “unchanged” but even if you do that you cant change the weapons the flood have. like yes i felt the flood skin was a smart decision. but they shouldn’t have changed the ENTIRE “infection” game type. they should have just made the flood player skin as an option to have.
i would also like to say that 343 did an amazing job with this game. it is tied with reach as my favorite… but yes, with everything they took out… it definitely ruined custom games and even future matchmaking. because Bungie took some community maps/ gametypes and put them into action sack.

I completely agree with all this ahaha. 343 did an amazing job with Campaign, I reckon it nearly topped Halo 4, which is an achievement. Spartan Ops are legendary, so much fun and a great equivalent to firefight. Even the matchmaking is great, it’s just the tools they give us to create varied game types and maps is annoying.
I almost guarantee that the next DLC will have a forge world type map, maybe with even bigger dimensions. My only problem is I don’t see why they didn’t just include that in the first place.
EDIT: ‘Unchanged’ is still using the flood model, the only thing it’s changing by selecting ‘flood’ in the appearance is the nasty green misty stuff coming of the flood.
