I think it would be a cool feature of 343i were to implement a custom game browser where you can make your custom game lobby and anyone browsing could join the open games.
It would be similar to a server browser, just instead of joining servers, you’d join other peoples’ custom games.

I always had fun if we had a group of 10+ people playing fun Custom Games like zombies, mazes, etc…
With so many people in voice chat parties, you don’t meet people as readily as you did back in H3 in or H2.
We’ve been fighting for this for years and it would totally remove all the arguments about how core Halo should be played because it’s the COMMUNITY hosting all the games.

I still wouldn’t want the community to host MM though

And therein lies the problem. It would be so hard to tell what is worth joining. Look at Reach, where every map is tagged “gai” “best map evear” “this map sux” “I like turtles” etc.
But yeah, cutom games, often that don’t have anything to do with proper gametypes such as sacrifice on lava pit, are a ton of fun.

if you join a crappy game then just leave, plus you should be able to tell if something is worth playing based on how many people are actually in the game. perhaps they could develop a sort of rating system so people can see the host’s reputation, similar to on ebay lol
