Well it’s clear they do care about custom games, otherwise the dedicated custom game servers wouldn’t be a thing at all.
I personally loved Halo 4’s take on Infection, especially once Hivemind was introduced. But I’m sure I’ll enjoy whatever comes out of it all.

Some peoples goal in life is to simply be upset about everything. It happens.
They really just need to give us tons and tons of gametypes, custom options for those gametypes, and forge items and canvases, we wil keep the community alive if they can do that for us.

You say that as if Flood was completely flawless and his complaints are entirely baseless.
Yes, people wanted a Flood mode, but NOBODY wanted it to replace standard Infection. The skin and sound effects were cool, but most people would’ve preferred still being able to give infected guns or wear non-piss-colored suits in Customs. I’d imagine most people were expecting something akin to Left 4 Dead or Singularity rather than a broken reskin of Infection for Flood mode.
And nobody “cried” for a Flood mode, people “suggested” one.

Nooooope. I say that as if I don’t give a -Yoink- about Flood. Or the gametype. I thought it was limited. I think a majority of the custom games are. But they went out of their way to specifically make a gametype to pander to the people WHINING about having one for years. THEN people STILL complain and say it’s crap, because it didn’t follow THEIR specific one sided view on how the gametype should be. Not like custom games are CUSTOMIZABLE or anything, and different variants are everywhere, even over the same freakin’ game type.
But hey, keep -Yoinking!- and complaining that your one sided view of every single game type isn’t somehow followed to the strictest definitions, because you think your 60$ makes your opinion golden and the only one that matters. I’m done here, you people won’t listen.

They have a history of screwing up a lot of things - custom games being one of them.
There’s a quirky kind of irony in this. Bungie came up with the name Infection when they hijacked the gametype. But when it was created in Halo 2, and was an actual custom game and only a customer game created by the community it was called Zombies. It’s always been Zombies, it will always be Zombies. Calling it “Infection” while reminiscing of the good old days is just a slap in the face.
I think they’ve already realized custom games is a core feature that cannot be taken away. It is already confirmed that you can disable ALL Spartan abilities including sprint for a gametype, so you could even play super high res classic feel Halo. I have faith that there will be many more options like this that will bring custom games back to life (hopefully forge world 2.0 is good enough to work with and we’ll see what forge can do for us later this week).

No weapon options for flood other than the sword and no equipment other than roll. A lack of options compared to previous titles. At launch certain custom games were not makeable due to not being able to select a game mode in forge to set properties for a flag stand for instance. Bad fileshare system did not allow searching at launch and forced you to search gamertags individually if you wanted to find one of the few old custom games that managed to be creatable.
Overall it was a mess and most people I knew just went back to Reach if they wanted to play customs due to just not having any options in 4.

So it’s strict and unfair for us to expect what is essentially a reskin of Infection to be customizable like Infection? That’s the point; Flood was okay, but at the end of the day it was Infection with LESS FEATURES. It was an interesting step forward with two steps back.
Nobody thinks their opinion is higher than anyone else’s, but we have just as much a right to voice ours as you, sonny.
