Custom Game Traits

So, I’ve been hosting socials with trits on to keep my socials under control. Note I don’t abuse it unless a group of people must be put down. However, when people find out I have traits, they get somewhat rude, even when I explain why I have it on.

The question is…Is it morally wrong to have traits on, even if it’s for keeping control over a chaotic situation?

It’s not a moral or ethical thing, it’s a personal thing you’re looking at. Some people find that having traits shows that you are unable to defend yourself in a game. For some modes, I can deal with that but for others it’s a different thing entirely.

Custom power ups I think you can do camo and overshield together or something else like that though I’m not certain.

No, the traits I use is…Well, I can’t be killed if I have the traits on.

Lmao I need that for the main games

In my opinon, Useing traits is for someone that is new to the clan community. If you have been playing its just seems like your Bad.

I’m working on a set of maps for halo 5 that are all very similar to each other. But I do wish there was a way to set a Trait and its motivations within the map itself instead of tying it to the gametype. That way people can use there own gametype to play on it instead of always the one I setup for it.

I will assume you’re using a mini game mode with like chess piece icon correct? If that’s the case I’m curious what does the setting look like. Also, don’t you have to mess with the maps scripting, because i sorta remember someone telling me that you have to mess with the map in order for the game mode to work as well?

Yes. However I use what was in place for the map and gametype and tinker with the game…It’s kinda complicate…

I really don’t think it’s that. Real players don’t really have morals in this way as a player since it does not effect them directly. It’s more a personal thing of whether they accept it or not and if they don’t then its simply their problem.

Most of the time(in socials) it are the ppl that try to take over a social map and make themselves feel good. I myself use customized player traits as well, in socials, recruitments, and to some extend in training maps(for trainings i use traits that remove abilities like thruster or spartan charge, or remove your radar), and i don’t really care what other ppl think of it. But 75% of the time i just use other scripts to keep ppl in line(reducing melee dmg by 90% and make ppl spawn with only 1 bullet 4 example, or i just lock the dramaqueens in a cell(that everyone can see) and keep them there until they leave(xd). There are plenty of other ways to contain/prevent chaotic situations, one of them being the player trait. And as long as you Don’t keep spawn killing the dramaqueens but only kill them when they engage others and only kill them once until they start engaging again rinse repeat its not a problem(imo)

I am confused as to why you would use custom traits though in customs? What purpose would it have. I guess the better question is what game mode are you playing that would require this?

Gamemodes like juggernaut, alpha flood(or zombies), custom oddbal(ball holder had a custom trait for example) same with ctf or strongholds, or your own made custom game like socials(a chill lobby) in case ppl try to unneccesarily(or whatever) kill other ppl that just want to chill etc.
