Custom Game Option Requests

Feel free to use this thread to post your own requests for custom game options(those of you that like to make your own gametypes or play customized gametypes)

As a Halo fan/player of 10+ years, Here are some custom options I would like to see in Halo 4

1: Numerical or percentage sliders used for all modifiers

2: Individual Damage Modifiers

3: Perfectly straight shooting single shot weapon

4: Separate Damage resistance modifiers for shields and health

5: Customizable static(unchanging, spawns at that time every time) timers for all pickups on the map(for instance I could choose to set it to an interval such as every 2 minutes or I could say that pickup will spawn 3 minutes into the game 4 minutes in and 8 minutes in, customizable down to the second of course)

6: Aim Assist modifier - I think messing with the speed tends to make movement feel awkward, but I’d like to be able to up the skill requirement in aiming. A simple aim assist modifier or even something as simple as an on/off would give us high skill gap aiming with the touch of a button even if we get a terrible strafe.

7: Powerup customization - OS shield recharge rate and total layers would suffice. For Camo an intensity slider, duration option, and the ability to choose what actions bring you in and out of camo. For instance we could have several actions that you could perform while still camo or even weapons you could use while still camo while others would bring you out. We could also set certain actions to result in quick camo. The custom action choices could include moving, jumping, meleeing, grenading, shooting, shooting specific weapons, etc.

These are what I would like to see to customize the experience I(and many others) would want. Feel free to add to them or post your own custom game option requests.

Agreed bro!

I’d love the option to have two hills on the map at a time in KotH and/or capture territories while in a vehicle. I’ve had an idea for a game variant since Halo 3 released and I still can’t do it, lol.

Custom game options would be great to have and could cater to many people.

Signed. Ive always wanted the ability to make certain weapons do more/less damage then others.

I’d thank it twice if I could.

Agreed…

First, I would like to say:
Armour abilities and loudouts should be knocked out from most of matchmaking.

But they must be added as a custom games feature. I don’t want these feature get completely pulled out all together.
If they do, THE ENTIRE FORGING COMMUNITY will be given even more restrictions and would “in theory” be going backwards from Reach’s customisation options.

If 343i keep Armour Abilities and loadouts in custom games, we will have a much greater variety of gametypes to play with.

Improved loadouts can give the player choice in infection and invasion. Ways that they can be improved is by limiting the amount of people on a team to use the particular loudout and allow the community to alter the player’s traits as well as their equipment.

AAs as a whole can be altered by limiting it’s fuel if they were pick-ups.
AAs in custom games can also be improved by allowing the player to make custom AAs. This can be changed through it’s recharge rate, fuel, player traits and efficiency.

An additional feature that they should also add as a custom game option with the ability to adjust the bloom amount, which kind of weapons it addresses to, and if it changes dependent on if you are in a vehicle or in flight.

-Specific traits per loadout.

-“Perks” as pick-ups.

-…VIP.

Okay!

I’d like an option to toggle bleedthrough, the ability to restrict the player to being a Spartan or whatever else you can play as in the game. In addition to weapons I’d like to be able to alter grenade damage radius and damage.

Some fantastic ideas coming out of this thread. I especially like grenade blast radius and damage. Adjustable fuse time would be pretty amazing too.

Also two hills would be very useful.

Great work guys, keep em coming. I hope 343 is paying attention and plans on implementing several of these ideas.

Great list, I’d also like to see a vehicle health modifier instead of just normal or invulnerable.

> Great list, I’d also like to see a vehicle health modifier instead of just normal or invulnerable.

I’d actually like to see a new health system. How bout Health bars like Banshees and Ghosts had in CE but some of them recharge. Have variable layers of recharging health with a custom option to adjust each.

edit: Have a visual indication for actually losing a layer of rechargeable health(so it will never come back) like loosing a piece of the vehicle that indicates to everyone how much rechargeable health the vehicle still has.

I have a few options.

Choose individual player traits-Say 90% of the players on this team will have X settings, and then that one player left over will have Y settings.
**Choose Armor For Individual players-**That 90% with X Settings have full ODST Armor, with the lonely one player with Y settings will have Mark VI. Then the enemy team has full Elite armor.
**Make Infection Points-**These would work in two ways. Say in the beginning of the game, everyone is human. You walk around grabbing weapons and all that, and a player or two find a rocket launcher, only to walk into that area and become infected. These would be set up in Forge. Then another way these could work, is have you fight through a hospital towards a Pelican or Falcon or some sort of ariel vehicle. You need to fly that up into the marker in the sky to end the round and survive.
**Custom Games Browser-**This could possibly be the most important option Custom Games could have. Instead of looking for friends to play customs with, you would just head to the browser and select a game you want to play.

These are all good options. It would be nice if there was a screen in the pregame lobby you could bring up that showed what changes were made from default settings.

That does sound like a good idea

give every option the developers have when making a playlist into custom games. Let the people change everything. Want people to have froced armor, or 0% aim assist, or even flaming footsteps. Allow everything to be changed in custom games.

This would be a universally fantastic feature regardless of the options we actually get.
