Custom Game matchmaking in Halo 4 please.

I think a system that allows people to find custom games would be a great addition. It could be like a list of lobbies that shows the host’s gamertag, how many players there are, and what gametype it is. The privacy settings could be set so those who actually want people to join their games would be join-able. Would you like to see something like this?

Also, on an unrelated note, can we please have the option to adjust the dialog and music volume independently in Halo 4? I hated how they were both set at a certain volume and that turning the dialogue off also meant turning off the music.

Good second idea bout the voice…but i personally dont think custom searching would be easy

@saifa117

I honestly don’t see why it couldn’t be implemented. Other games have been doing this for a while.

im just saying … it is a good idea…
but: it opens yet another…gigantic sandbox…i would play that gametype myself. but i think people would be more seperated. like no more everybody to one matchmaking…

I didn’t mean I wanted it to be a playlist or anything like that. What I meant was this: Imagine Reach having a system like this. You go to make a custom game. You put the privacy settings on ‘open.’ Now, through an option in the custom game menu, another player can choose the option ‘list of current custom games.’ He sees your game, joins it, and he’s there.

Rather than a search system, i think people should be allowed to send halo-wide(everyone playing h4) invites with the name of their map/gametype.

You could ofcourse turn off this option so 100thousand ppl arent messaging you…

That would be interesting. It’s certainly a quicker way to fill up a full lobby.

I think people would still spam invites though. Let’s say there’s a separate menu then you could see all of the invites.

But not many have done it well, without sacrificing the quality of ranked multiplayer

Under private settings there should be a “private” or “public” option, then in the custom games or start menu there should be a custom game search similar to a dedicated server menu where it shows:

  • Who the host is
  • The map
  • The name the owner has called the map
  • The game type
  • The name the owner has called the game type
  • How many people are in the game
  • Max players

But before you join, a menu could pop up similar to reaches join session queue system where it would show (along with the Info above):

  • Time elapsed
  • Time left(if applicable)
  • Score
  • Score limit(if aplicable)
  • All players currently in game
  • Amount of players in queue(if lobby is full)

Then at the bottom there is an option to join, or if the lobby is full then join the queue.

I’d like it, good warm-up

Yes.
Only a few of my IRL friends play custom games, so when they are not on line I have to search the Recent Players section and join randomers parties, sometimes getting kicked, rarely finding an actual game xD.
I can see it now:
Host Custom Game
Host Quick Game
Join Custom Game
Join Quick Game

No EXP from custom games. If so then YES. I cant imagine matchmaking being touched with custom matchmaking. Customs are just more fun.
