Hello, I want this post to focus more on the smaller details that could improve custom games. Please don’t mention bigger subjects like Grifball and Infection etc…
There’s already going a lot of attention to this and 343 is most likely working on them. We can still try to think of small ideas for them though.
One thing that I noticed for instance: I was playing a custom game where you only had 1 life each round, but it appeared that once you die with this 1 life in FFA you can’t change the camera to view other players. Because of this, once death, you’ll only be able to keep staring at your spartan laying on the ground. After being dead for a while this becomes kinda boring.

Add loads of options. This game is missing far too many. Now I have noticed one has appeared, you can now change secondary weapon to none, don’t know when this appeared. But there are far too many options missing. Even some of the settings within the options seem limited, can’t go 0% on some traits for example or motion sensor only goes to 200%. If infection comes, it needs to have all the old options and hopefully new ones. Halo 3, Reach and 4 would have a nice spread of options if they were all included.
Game chat doesn’t work in lobby. I can invite spam my halo friends but would be nice to message them all about upcoming games. XBOne only let’s you message 32 at a time, perhaps something could be added to the in game friends list to make this easier.
More options is also something I’d like to see. Secondary weapon = none came with the Decomber Update.
It would also be nice to be able to change teams while being in a forge session. It happened to me that I joined a friends’ Forge session and I got put in an another team, when I got in the game I had no idea where he was because I couldn’t see his service tag.
But since Forge is getting continuous support I am assuming that we will get that sooner or later.
Oh, the ability to watch custom games in theatre. You can watch the last game played but it’s very buggy, most of the time it will just load the last match made game. This is important for the map testing process.
Does anyone else know any small improvements for custom games?
