Custom Control Mapping (BJ Change)

I am actually really impressed with what I’ve seen with Halo 4 thus far. This is the first time since Halo 2 I’ve been this excited about an upcoming game at all, much less a Halo game. I’ll definitely be playing the hell out of the campaign and Spartan Ops. Even multiplayer seems to be good from what limited gameplay I’ve seen of it.

That being said, one thing does concern me. This post by Best Man has made me cry silent tears of despair. I love my current bumper jumper controls, and I’d like to be able to carry over some semblance of those same controls to Halo 4. But even then, I don’t feel like Reach’s or Halo 3’s bumper jumper is perfect for me. The solution? Custom control mapping.

Custom control mapping is something I’ve always wanted to see in Halo. I honestly don’t know why this hasn’t become a standard feature for all games yet. The only game that comes to mind that does this on the 360 is Quake 4. Quake 4 wasn’t exactly the best game, but I certainly appreciated the freedom to map the buttons to any function I wanted.

Implementing this would certainly help new players acclimate to Halo and would please control freaks like yours truly. As far as I can tell, adding custom control mapping would only help this game. If not in this game, I feel it should definitely be included in Halo 5 and 6. Anyone else feel the same way or have thoughts on custom control mapping?

If you want, post your ideal control scheme if you have one that is not already met by the prefabricated selections.

Also, if you’re not watching the IGN live stream, I suggest you do so.

Nevermind, IGN gave misleading information about seeing new multiplayer gameplay. It was just another analysis of the same single player gameplay we’ve all seen a million times already. Gotta get them views, eh IGN?
