I hope Halo 4 will have cutscenes in Spartan Ops that feature your custom Spartan. There’s something really cool about seeing your character on a cutscene, like in Reach.
The pre-rendered ones won’t be with your spartan IV by the way.
I’m sure that will happen.
Spartan Ops will be like Reach’s campaign cutscenes. I believe you, actually, do play as your own Spartan.

Do I seem to be the only guy who wants to die?
I mean we’ve all had those moments where you just say to your teammates “Go. I’ll keep them back.” ETC. But then you quickly die or they just bypass you. What I want is a mission or something where you get the option to just run away or you could sacrifice yourself to help your teammates.
I don’t know if I said that clearly. I just think that story based missions seem bland if you’re an ever re pawning god.

I think youre the only one. Sorry. Living to fight another day is a win for me, it’s not running away. No. They need me now more than ever to fight the badguys that are not here atm. You know? When something/someone becomes the lesser of two evils, it’s a given YOU gotta go chase after them instead.
Edit: You stay on Reach to man-the-gun to save the Autumn. BUT, they never prooved that you died. Heck, my Spartan has been through everything up to Halo 4 thanks to my imagination! Plus, “Spartans Never Die…”
They said CG episodes. CG means pretty much definitely no custom characters included in those specific scenes which are CG.
That does not rule out the possibility of in-engine cutscenes with your custom characters in them though.

You can play matchmaking then lol, all of the things you mentioned are in there.

CG includes mocap, yes? Didn’t they use mocap with the Reach scenes?

They are using CGI so no, they will not.

Have you heard the sparkasts? It gives information about the cutscenes I believe.
The actual story cutscenes are all pre-rendered CGI (Meaning they are artistically pre-created, and cannot be modified based on things like your armour), vs traditional Halo cutscenes which are rendered in-game engine. Though once actually in the mission, the “landing” and “taking off” cutscenes (which ARE rendered in-game engine) may feature all 4 Spartan characters in your game, showing things like them getting off a Pelican, or running up to the beginning of the level. But they won’t be talking, or anything.
CG scenes can be MADE with MOCAP, as can an in-engine cutscene, but the idea of CG is that it is static and pre-rendered, not dynamic.
When you pre-render the scene, it basically becomes a completed video file and is unchangeable.
An in-engine cutscene can use the motion data in MOCAP, but dynamically displays the scene using the game’s engine, which allows you to screw around with it easily because you already know how the motion is supposed to play out, and you’re just telling the game how to show it.

Mocap implies nothing more than that a guy in a Motion Capture suit was used to create the movements of the character. In a CG cutscene, the character model is pre-rendered and cannot be changed. Halo Reach’s cutscenes were all rendered in the game’s engine, not in CG. (Halo Wars is an example of CG).
I think the CG cutscenes and the in-game rendered cutscenes will both be in the game. The CG basically introduces the mission and story, and the rendered ones will be short, intros or outros to the missions.
The pre-rendered cutscenes won’t, but there should at least be some scenes with this.
