Custom challenges wont work

I create the challenge and it shows it on my profile on waypoint but within the game it doesnt show up, so i cant even complete it. anyone have any idea why this happens?

Im having the same problem…i think im just doing something wrong but i dont know i havent heard anything on it.

im glad to see im not alone

As far as I can figure, you can’t complete your own challenges. This is how I think it works. You make the challenges, and then send invites to your friends. Your friends will have to go to Halo waypoint and accept them in order for them to complete them. I don’t know if you can accept challenges via the console version of waypoint or not. You will need someone else to make a challenge and send you an invite so you can complete their challenges.

It doesn’t show in game but you will, hopefully, be completing it. If you can have your PC on and be on this site checking (refresh the page after you complete a round of whatever pertains to your challenge)your custom challenges whislt playing on the 360 and you will see you are progressing it. I am having a problem setting up challenegs right now, can’t get onto tthe page, keeps saying error.

i have already tried that and it does not work i also invited my friends to the challenge and yet they did not get the invite.

help would be nice

Not 100% Sure… But i think 343 have closed Custom Challenges down due to boosters?

idk but its been doing this for me since day 1 so maybe it has something to do with my internet settings? but i really dont know.

they do not appear in-game like the daily/weekly challenges.

You track them from Waypoint, which only updates when you’ve exited a session.

For example: if you have a challenge for 1000 kills in campaign and you’re using the target locater on ONI base, you can track the progress on waypoint…which will show 0/1000 kills until you save and exit the game.

Then refresh the browser, and it will show you how many kills you accumulated. So, if you did the exploit for a couple minutes, you’ll maybe show 250/1000. If you do it for an hour, you’ll have the 1000/1000 and you can turn it in (again, via the browser or waypoint app on the xbox).

There will be no animation for credit rewards. Your credit progress will simply update to the new, higher amount.

You kinda have to play around with it a little, too. They do work, though. I was doing custom challenges last night for a half hour or so and scooped up about 12k just screwing around.

Also note boosting is practically impossible.
At the minimum you need to wait 3 hours for any challenge to be over and receive credits and top of the 3/+ hour wait you can only have like what 5 custom challenges? Feel free to correct me on the amount you can have if I am mistaken. Moving on to you not having it show up on waypoint. Depending on what the challenge is it will vary. Matchmaking Firefight = Only Online Firefight kills, medals or whatever will apply. Same goes for Custom(Custom Games Only), Matchmaking Multiplayer(Online Only), Campaign(Campaign Only. As for you friends not receiving it… make sure that you have selected their name and also asked if they are in the right place for accepting custom challenges.

I’ve not checked on Reach yet, but when making the challenge I think it says “invite friends to challenge” somewhere, so maybe you have to invite yourself to it? But I really have no idea.

^^^^ This explains it.

This is exactly my experience. I did three custom challenges last night, and this is what I had to do.

I made the challenge online. Then I completed a portion of the challenge. Then I left the game and went into Halo Waypoint via my XBOX to see if there was anything there about custom challenges. There wasn’t. So, I got onto Halo Waypoint online, and there were my challenges showing how much progress I made. I tried various iterations of the sequence, and this is what I came up with:

  1. Make the challenge via Halo Waypoint Online.
  2. Play Halo and work on the challenge.
  3. Terminate your Halo play by logging into Halo Waypoint via your XBOX.
  4. Refrensh your computer browser and see how much progress you have made via Halo Waypoint Online.
  5. When you have completed your challenge, press the button to “turn it in” for points.
  6. When the time limit on the challenge has expired, you’ll get credit for it.

It seems like an unnecessarily convoluted way of making and checking up on challenges to me, but that’s what I had to do. I don’t see why it can’t be just like the daily and weekly challenges, where your custom challenges show up in your menu right next to the daily and weekly challenges, and you get a little progress notification during the game telling you how you’re doing – just like daily and weekly challenges.

when i try to get to halowaypoint to make custom challenges it just shows weekly and daily challenges. Any idea how to get to the custom ones?

Is anyone having a problem were the credits from you custom challenges aren’t adding to your account, what should I do?

You clarified this to a point where you can’t explain further. Thank you.

Its getting annoying cant get my challenges to my self…any help

When you make your challenge say 100 headshots on multiplayer matchmaking on your computer. Then you go play a round of say, swat. You get 20 headshots. refresh your page which you made your challenges on waypoint for the computer to see your progress. When the time is up for the challenges, the next game you play will include the challenge Credits with it. THERE WILL BE NO INGAME NOTIFICATION OF THE CUSTOM CHALLENGES
