My friend and I have two Xbox Live accounts. If we create custom challenges for both of us (for example, killing 20 grunts), can we complete them by playing in coop splitscreen? You know, like campaign or firefight but local, on the same Xbox.
I think I tried it once, but I didn’t see any progress on Halo Waypoint.
The game history won’t upload to Halo Waypoint like you’ve stated, so you will have to play them via Xbox LIVE.
It should be noted though, if you are playing with a guest, there progress will be tracked, not yours.
Mmm… I think I understand. But, you know, we can both get Daily and Weekly challenges (the ones that don’t imply Matchmaking, of course) while playing on coop splitscreen (for example, right now we got Nightfall LASO). But this doesn’t include Custom challenges, right?

Correct, your game history won’t upload to Waypoint from local games IIRC, so progress towards custom challenges won’t be counted.
