CUSTOM CHALLENGES FEEDBACK THREAD

Feel free to share your thoughts on your most creative challenge ideas, what needs to be improved, and what challenges provide the most cR pay.

So far I’ve created only basic challenges, but firefight challenges seem to be quite profitable without having to spend much time:

300 headshots in firefight mm, time limit of 3 hours: 9889 cR (that’s 3 rounds of gruntpocalypse). It’s even possible to create overlapping challenges by adding a firefight “kills” and “medals” challenge. Set a time limit of 3 hours, create a challenge “300 kills” and “300 medals” in firefight matchmaking, and you get 9889 cR (headshots) + 3956 cR (kills) + 5934 cR (medals) = 19779 cR. Almost 20.000 cR for 3 rounds of gruntpocalypse.

10.000 cR seems to be the limit for a firefight challenge. You could get almost 30.000 cR in multiplayer matchmaking, but I didn’t want to spend the evening playing swat or team snipers and 3 hours for 300 headshots in mm is already quite difficult.
I think the credit system is not 100% fair, you get 2198 cR for 200 headshots in the campaign, but 6593 cR for 200 heaadshots in ff (time limit of 3 hours). There is no gruntpocalypse in the campaign, only a phantom full of grunts (level: nightfall), but I don’t want to revert to the last checkpoint again and again - it’s boring.

This is what is really wierd, if I put in 500 medals for MP matchmaking, and it’s about 21000 credits. But if I put in 1000 (double the medals) then its only 30,000? Might as well just do 2 500 medal challenges and not 1 big challenge.

To be honest they are cool, but myself and my friends probably won’t get around to using them unless they were implemented into Halo: Reach itself.

30.000 is the limit, you won’t get more credits for a multiplayer challenge, but you can create a “500 medals in matchmaking” challenge, complete the challenge, click on “turn in” and create the same challenge again.

Yeah I was kind of sad to see that you couldn’t view your current challenges in Reach itself but they still are very cool, and I like to use them often. One thing that needs to be improved though is making the challenges more unique and specific. Right now all you can really do is get challenges for kills, headshots, and medals. If you had the option to make challenges like those in Halo Reach then that would make them a lot more fun.

This seems like an extremely easy way to get Credits, I’ll be sure to make use of it when I play Firefight every day.

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of challenges per day or is it infinite?

How do you create one?

I can’t find the option here or on Xbox waypoint, I went to the custom challenges menu on the xbox waypoint, but it had no option to create one. It just had invites, history, and active challenges.

That link just showed the regular reach challenges, and a pop-up for downloading the waypoint app.

It’s pretty simple once you know where to go. Just click on your profile icon at the top of the page where it says your profile name with the small down arrow next to it and click on “View Challenges” in the Challenges section. Once you are there you should be able to create your own custom challenge in the custom challenge section on the left side of the page. Hope that helps!

I’m still to try the custom challenges out.
Looks like a very creative and interesting feature to matchmaking though.

You can get an endless supply of grunts, elites, and jackals on the first part of Long Night Of Solace if you storm up the beach to the base and then stay there. The drop ships will continuosly drop off the Covenant as long as you keep killing them. Also the Pelican will continuosly drop off more Marines as they get killed off.

Yes, but you get three times the credits for the same challenge in ff matchmaking, and it takes me 20-25 minutes (depending on the ff map) to complete the challenge.

How about medals? Can you get a large amount for those? Or are headshots and kills worth more?

I do love how this works, and you can get many cR from playing MM and FF. It is what I do all day. (Well the time I am playing the game).

What I think they should do to make it better it give us more choices. Like for a campaign mission, let us choose to even make it a L.A.S.O. Game. Or let us make one like “Complete 5 Missions on Heroic.” = 10,000 cR. This way I think it will be less limited to what we can do.

I never remember to do mine… I really wish it should just say “FORGOTTEN” or “FORFEIT” rather than “FAILED” in the history…

Probably the most unique I came up with was getting 15 kills with the Seraph on LNoS.

Yeah, i’d say that’s certainly unique! I remember making one called, Firin’ Mah Lazor, it was for so and so kills with the splazer in the campaign.

I still can’t acces Custom Challenges… That makes me sad. :frowning: Please 343, fix it!

I just had challenges setup for multiplayer matchmaking and i noticed it looked like my challenge bars were barely moving… well they were… because the challenges were taking my guests stats… 343i i think you need to take a look at that

tldr: custom challenges while playing with guest take guests stats
