Custom Challenge Specifics on Enemies..

So I, being a noob to some of the new Waypoint stuff, just discovered these Custom Challenges… at first I thought it was for show, a sort of gimmick just to see if you could complete this or that… then I saw that you actually earn credits… now I can’t dive in fast enough. There is an issue I came across, however…

I set up a custom challenge for Firefight Matchmaking which specified kills of Grunt Infantry. I understand that not ALL grunts will fall under this category, but after games of gruntpocalypse and Arcadefight, it seems that I haven’t killed even one. I do understand that the tracker update is delayed, but despite the delay, it was able to track my other challenges well…

My question is, do these types of kills get tracked differently, or is there some kind of specifics on “infantry” that don’t appear in Firefight Matchmaking? You are able to select Marines after all, which don’t really appear there.

In addition, if this is the case and I made a mistake with setting up the challenge, does anyone know the specifics on which enemies WILL appear, in particular grunts?

Any help is appreciated. I realize this is my first post, but I will likely be introducing myself in Reach forums and so on fairly soon, especially with Halo 4 coming.

I apologize, it seems that it simply wasn’t tracking the kills when I set it up.

*In your post game carnage report you can hit RB and go over and see if you actually killed any “Grunt Infantry”.

*Sometimes it takes a minute or two for the page to update, so be patient. (It’s alot easier/better to use the Halo Waypoint app on iPhone/Android if you have one.)

For FireFight, use these Custom Challenges:

800 kills
3 hours
10,000cR

800 Medals
3 hours
10,000cR

*If you are going to play Gruntpocalypse, do 400 headshots in 3 hours, that will pay 10,000cR too.

I wouldn’t worry about “specific enemies” in firefight. You’re better off just doing regular kills.
