So I had this idea one day, where essentially, you unlock moves and attacks instead of entire assassinations, and then put them together somehow.
So you’d have “jab” and “kick” and “blow up” and “armor lock, causing them to leave, giving you the kill” (the last one may kill the halo community a 'lil bit)
Which adds a better level of customization.

When you perform an assassination it could say “finish him”. And then you press a certain series of buttons to perform an awesome move which would be shown in slow motion and x-ray and it would say “fatality” and…

I’m not sure your idea would work. The spartans would have to be repositioned after each individual move for the moves to mold into a fluent animation. I think that would make it either very complicated or very long or you’d just have very basic moves. In the end it might sound nice but probably would look stupid…
the created assassination could look a bit… flashy as in just clips put together where the movements couldnt likely match and it could look just weird. Though if there was a option to create assassination i could just use simply throatslit or stab in the kidney area to make them quick and effective and especially quiet. Basically what assassination is supposed to be though i prefer the random ones like in Halo: Reach just for variation.

What I mean by physical assassinations is there are no knives for the final blow, no weapons (Supernova is an exception), or anything like that; just using your bare hands to beat the living **** outta someone.

I thought this thread was going to be about a gmod-style way of animating assassinations. So, theoretically, you could just smash your guy against the victim over and over until he’s dead and call that an assassination.

Yea it would be cool if the bayonet on the weapons had special assassinations.
That is a really interesting idea. I would choose three nut punches in a row if possible.
