A friend of mine who is kind of new to Halo just threw this out there. Why can’t we the players make custom armor sets. You would think that this would be in the game with millions of armor combos but no. So I say in Halo 5 allow players to pick their armor and save it. So later if they want to switch to it they don’t have to change every little piece and just do it in an instant.
Really, could it hurt to make it so players could switch to their armor faster. I don’t think so, but let the voters decide that.

I’m sorry. I come on these forums very often and i din’t notice your threads. I would of gladly supported you. IMO this is something that should happen and lets not let it go under the radar.

It’s fine; I’m just glad the idea finally seems to be noticed.
as long as they looks good (ala Halo Reach IMO…)
the thing is that small tweaks to armor is not even visible in game… good for looby though and they got to upgrade that too cuz H4 was yuck…
I’d prefer just to have a small number of armour pieces, and then with only 10 different armour pieces, this idea would be somewhat pointless, because it would be easy to flip through pieces (like Halo 3). 10 different pieces for 5 or 6 armour areas is plenty. 50 or 60 pieces gives lots of combinations to make your Spartan individual. No need for 100 different pieces for 10 different areas.
As much as I would like that, I doubt it will happen. So, I’d like them to at least sort it well. I feel that if they have an armour customization system like Reach, that will solve a lot of the frustration with Halo 4’s system. H4’s armour was so badly organized that it was impossible to find anything.
A good system (ie list it by each armour, in each area, then have a subsection for skins) would work wonders for the armour system. Which I feel would once again make your system pointless.
They need to clean up the armour system first, then if it’s still frustrating to sort through, then I’d say implement your idea.
I think the best thing to try first is sorting with subsections. So it would work like this:
Armour- Helmet- Scout- Arctic.
You select which armour piece you would like to change (in this case helmet), then it brings up all the different helmet pieces, you select which one you want (in this case Scout), then you select the armour skin (or none).
Not that your idea is bad, I’d just rather them fix the sorting system first, then see if you still find you need saved armour sets.
Wow!!! Awesome idea! I’m kinda wierd so I tend to change my armor set every time I get on for the day. I always have this dilemna where I’m like, “I love this one!” but then have to change it I hope that’s something 343 considers! Sounds really cool

There’s not much shame in that. Though I have trouble sticking with a single appearance due to how Halo 4’s armor doesn’t appeal to me, another thing that 343i should fix.
I definitely like the idea of making the armor more organized with different skins as an option for a certain piece of armor. However, I still believe in quality over quantity. Most of the armor pieces in Halo 4 did not really appeal to me. Same goes for most of my friends. It could be that I just did not like the style of Spartan IVs but I would like to see more effort put into the design of armor. That should come first
And instead of having 2-3 exact same pieces just with a different texture release those textures.
In other words: only base (clean) armor pieces, and textures as a seperate category that can be applied to an armor set as a whole.
Its so annoying to go through long lists of armor pieces, knowing it could be far easier if there weren’t that many exact same pieces with just a different striping pattern.
Also 1: add voice controls via Kinect to just say the piece you want, instead of having to browse through the entire list. Same for Forge.
Also 2: I also like the idea of being able to have more load out slots and being able to select those you want to be available.
> I,like the idea of armor being associated with perks. Gives a reason for the description and specific roll the armor goes with.
The problem with doing that, though, is that the ability to edit your armor for aesthetic purposes would be destroyed.
One of my favorite helmets is the Scout Helmet, is canonically designed for stealth-based intrusions. I’m not one for stealth, and rarely do I enjoy doing such. Now, if I want to use the Scout helmet, I’m going to be trading off a potential perk that I’d like to have for wearing the helmet that I love.
People shouldn’t have to trade off their preferred appearance for their preferred playstyle. If perks are going to return, they shouldn’t be locked to armor pieces.
Are there even any negatives from adding this feature into a Halo. So far as i can tell the only one is that three minutes of Dev time it would take to make this feature but other than that I see none.
Not to mention that con is greatly outweighed by the pros.
