I’m not sure how to ask this, so I’ll use an example.
Suppose I use custom challenges to earn 250k. I then log back on and earn 4k in a game of BTB after the payout. Will it deduct only that 4k and continue deducting what I earn in subsequent games until I hit 120k again? Or will it instantly take away the extra 130k to set me at the cap?
If you don’t want to lose those credits, make sure to sign on to Reach at a time where the challenge expiration time occurred on a previous date. This can be done by simply waiting, changing your time zone in the Xbox 360 System Settings menu, or both.
So, say you were to complete 200,000 cR in challenges today that payout in the 11:00 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. hour, you would simply sign off prior to 11:00 p.m. and sign in after midnight and you would receive all 200,000 cR and none would be taken away.
I don’t think discussing/sharing tips on how to bypass the daily credit cap is a good idea - it might get you into trouble either on here, or in-game, or both.

lets say you would of stayed off Reach until you time zone changes you would of keep those cR

its totally fine to bypass the cR limit 343i wouldn’t of made a system that can get people in trouble by accident, the first time i went over the cR cap was by accident…
besides show me ware in the terms of use/code of conduct ware it says going over the cR limit will get you in trouble

Not just THIS^ , but there shouldn’t even be a credit cap in the first place. How many other games tell you how long you can play for? Also, 343 said they would raise the credit cap. Has that happened yet? The way I figure it. 343 gave us the tools, by that I mean their system. We are using the tools provided and PLAYING the game at the same time. I’m glad 343 is not Bungie, Bungie would have banned AND reset everyone for this, THEN said “oh, hey, by the way, we are banning for this now, sorry, our game, our rules” only in words that take a rocket scientist to figure out.
They tried to raise the cr limit and screwed the game up. No message now when you hit the cr limit. And the best of all everthing you do after hitting the limit doesnt go onto your commendations
> They tried to raise the cr limit and screwed the game up. No message now when you hit the cr limit. And the best of all everthing you do after hitting the limit doesnt go onto your commendations
The reason there is no message is because they changed the amount of cR you need to get before the message pops up, which is in fact, the new cR cap, but the cR cap itself hasn’t been raised.

As someone who was auto-banned by Bungie before, I can’t believe you’re criticizing them in the midst of a discussion on the breaking of systems created by Bungie that used to work fine until 343 Industries got their hands on them.
Bungie had a hold on Reach’s in-game economy, and they banned anyone who used network manipulation to exploit it, they even banned idlers trying to game the system. 343 Industries comes along and releases an app that lets you boost cR, making the ONI Target Locator checkpoint more lucrative that anyone could have possibly imagined.
Bungie had a credit limit that worked. You earned credits up to the limit, and then you didn’t earn credits after you hit the limit, and you got an in-game message, and you could still earn commendation progress. 343 Industries couldn’t even adjust this one setting without screwing it up.

I see your point. However, Bungie did create a rank cap first. You could not go higher that Lt. Col. Grade 3. They still put a credit limit in place on a system Bungie created. I am criticizing Bungie because they put such a rediculous system in place from the start. Bungie left major flaws in their system that allowed for exploitation. So instead of fixing the problem, they put a ban in place instead, and in the process, reset a ton of people for thinking outside the box. I’m not saying the players were right, I’m just saying banning people for exploiting a flaw in the creators system should not happen. Challenge resetting was totally network manipulation though, but who were the players actually harming?
If players want to blast through to top rank, they should be able to as long as they:
Do not mod in any way.
Do not ruin any others gaming experience.
Utilize the tools given as long as not to beak 1 and 2.
