Current State of Sanghelios and Her Colonies

At the end of Halo 5: Guardians we see Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris arriving on Sanghelios, more specifically at the Swords of Sanghelios encampment on Nuusra, where they met with the Arbiter, Sarah Palmer, and Dr. Halsey. This leads me to believe that Thel 'Vadam and his Swords of Sanghelios have successfully eliminated the remaining Covenant forces on Sanghelios and he has united the planet under his leadership. I’ve drawn the conclusion that with a majority of Sangheili colonies have joined the Swords of Sanghelios with only Hesduros supporting the Covenant, the Blooding Years is over. Yet now the Swords of Sanghelios must aid their UNSC allies in defeating the Created and their Promethean army. What’s your opinion on the current state of the Sangheili race after the Battle of Sunaion.

Sanghelios is probably partly destroyed, just like Europe after WWII. The Sangheli will probably try to rebuild as well as aiding the Humans against The Created. I think they will mainly focus on fighting, since the Arbiter already have a large army ready and they will need a safer peace in order to rebuild.

The Sangheili are probably still divided quite a bit, I imagine there’s plenty of other factions out there (especially on the colonies) who don’t accept Arby’s rule. Not to mention Sanghelios is probably in ruins.

I think that the Swords of Sanghelios did win and defeated the Covenant, but I do now believe that the arbiter is in charge of sanghelios. Cortana began sending out Guardians almost as soon as she had blue team. So most likely, knowing of the civil war, she would have sent one there to return order, which most likely would have destroyed the war fleet assembled by the arbiter.

True there are factions that oppose the Arbiter but only two are known: Luro’s faction and the Servants of the Abiding Truth. But Luro hasn’t engaged the Swords as far as we know and the Servants have been cut down by more than a half. Yes many Sangheili cities are in ruin but they’ll rebuild and as far as I’m concerned, Thel 'Vadam has won the Blooding Years and Sanghelios is united under his leadership. “Arbiter has united the keeps and formed a new alliance: The Swords of Sanghelios” Mahkee 'Chava

As best as I can tell, the Battle of Sunaion just secured Sanghelios for the Swords. They’ll still have further fighting to do, but they’ve secured their home-world.

Am i the only person that finds it strange the arbiter went from wanting to get rid of the prophets to wanting to wipe out the entire covenant. “Thare was honor in our covenant once and thare shall be again” arbiter halo 3. “Extingeuish the covenants light, forever” arbiter halo 5. Is thare something im missing lol

5 years of seeing splinter factions use the title covenant. At that point it became clear to rebrand to declare his position.

He probably hoped the covenant would fall in line after the prophets were defeated, but its clearly not the reality of what occurred.
