For anyone who has played Atriox this season, was wondering what your play style for him is currently and how you feel his performance is this season? I almost solely play Atriox, and last season ranking Onyx and almost reaching Champion wasn’t to hard (and that was all legitimate strategies, no Locust or HB rushes). This season I am barely Onyx… What I have found this season is that the need to his leader powers may have been to drastic, with none of them quite being worth the cost. I relied on Bulwark and Dying Breath for sustaining power and leader power counters. Now I feel like those aren’t even truly viable any longer. neither do I feel his Invulnerability stacks up well against same tier powers of other leaders and it seems overpriced… Also is it just me, or did Atriox’s Chosen get way weaker like mid this season all of a sudden? I didn’t catch any patch notes on that at all.
I could be mistaken about all of this, but it seems where last season he stacked up and played well and how he was designed. This season I find myself on the losing end of the leader power race. And with that I can’t burn enemy troops or sustain allied troops into the late game nearly as easily. Colony seems to play similar to Atriox this season (except more steamroller less turtle) but be a much more viable leader option.

I try to exapnd more than my opponent, which obviously is easier with atriox. Then I shield TF out of my base so I can defend it if need be.
I hate that his invulnerability powers had the time nerf, but placing a good bulwark or even an unbreakable can still turn the battle. Since he can expand and set up bases quickly the leader powers aren’t too expensive. Though unbreakable definitely is a late game power because of the price and what you get.
Eradication is super good at whipping the enemies force to roll through them.
With all that said, he was alot better last season, but he’s still a a great leader this season.
mass expand, mass shields and wait for eradication. unbreakables super over priced tnh and to be completely honest that first ability that maskes turrets and bases cheaper should be a 3 pointer not 2. why is rnd for anders 3 and not 2.
With the war council, a new base only costs 53 resources
Gotta play defensive though and build lots of bases because the other banished leaders are much stronger in a straight up fight.
Only problem with Atriox is that it is tempting to over invest in base expansions since it is so cheap and then they attack you and you end up bankrupting yourself trying to defend them. I usually just take every base on map but I don’t put anything on them. It’s more of an effort to contain/deny bases from opponent than for me to actually spend money building it up. Basically just lots of dispensable decoy bases.
IMO Atriox is the best leader due to how strong his economy is. I have mained him since season 1 and have reached Onyx and/or Champion in all seasons.
Not that hat that means anything but just to show as an Atriox player through all seasons he is still extremely viable regardless of any changes made to him.
The only real change I see with the last updates to his leader powers are simply choosing when to use them because of the longer cool downs. The cost increase really doesn’t matter at all if you are utilizing his eco abilities correctly.
I hate to say but I actually think he might see a bit of a nerf yet still at some point or at the very least I wouldn’t be surprised.

hes he best leader this curet meta by far just expand and stack shields as fast as u can ur welcome
I think that Atriox is still balanced alongside his fellow Banished leaders, except for one aspect. If you watched the BtC 1v1 tournament, King of Reason won using a strat where he queues two expos at once. One of them goes down, but the other goes up. There’s not much you can do to stop that. The whole thing with Atriox was to stop his expo. If you did, you win. If you didn’t, you lose. But with this strat… It’s OP. If there was a patch that made it so that there’s a cooldown on Fortifications effects, that would be great. Beyond that, I think he’s balanced. Atriox’s Chosen is outclassed by the Hunter Captain, Unbreakable is wayyyy too expensive to be worth it, and Bulwark’s cooldown is too long to save your army from more than a couple leader powers. Still, because of that one OP strat, he’s top tier.

incorrect he won because of shield mechanics and atriox of coursse gets cheaper shields so better abuse of already broken mechanic rofl…

Once you get 2 points of fortifications, it’s probably best to just buy up every base on the map. With the war council, the bases cost less than 1 grunt lol.
Btw Atriox is not OP at all like some people are saying. Think he is fairly balanced. If anything they need to rebuff the invincibility again.
Chopper rushes
Banshee spaming
shield stacking
His fort passive (best econ boost in game tbh)
Best leader hero
Then you have:
Erad
Invic
More invic
and a siphon
On top of that you only have to worry about losing to pretty much Decimus and Colony with the occasional Cutter sometimes. This hero’s almost always been in top 1-2.
