Current game offers very little Incentive to play

This topic has been discussed, but 343 really needs to understand how the current state of the game is not the best for longevity and lacks invective to play. Without a player progression XP and reward system, a Commendation/merit system with XP and rewards the incentive to play continuously is very low. Leveling the Battlepass with the little XP that is rewarded after the daily high XP bumps is an extremely slow crawl and if you finish all of the weekly challenges you are limited to just the daily 1000xp bonus and then 50xp each game. This is not a good system to sustain playerbase and really needs to be adjusted.

343 has stated that they are looking into a second type of progression, so hopefully that happens sooner than later, but here are a few suggestions.

-I am not a big fan of COD or their game model, but when they made Warzone F2P and kept the multiplayer mode as a paid service it made sense. 343 could keep a base Mutiplayer experience as F2P with rotating weekly modes and a F2P version of the Battlepass, but create an entirely new paid Multiplayer experience that is a 100% complete Halo multiplayer experience.

This paid mode should have several playlists available as well as rotating weekly challenge playlists so players can choose what to play.

As well as:
-All Firefight modes
-Spartan-Op’s
-Forge
-Custom games
-Campaign scoring playlist
-Complete player progression XP and a Spartan rank system with rewards at certain ranks
-A massive Commendation system with tiered rewards and ultra rare unique rewards
-A complete Spartan customization system with color palettes for every part of armor and emblems.
-Battlepass that is unique to the paid experience.
-Rank reward and Commendation completion emblems that can be equipped and customized.

I may have missed some things, but the point is 343 should maybe move to a full paid MP experience and keep the F2P model as an entry point. Maybe this sucks or maybe its a good idea who knows, but if its paid maybe they can put the time into making a complete game instead of relying on cosmetic purchases. If they stay F2P at a minimum they need to add in Commendations, more playlists and XP progression to keep players engaged.

On a side note I came up with an idea for a better armor core system called Armor Core Mastery or ACM for short. How this system would work is that once you use a core for a certain amount of earned XP a mastery system unlocks with tiered challenges like Commendations. As you complete these challenges you unlock unique armor pieces, coatings, emblems and skins that can only be unlocked for that core. There also can be a core specialization branch ( Operator, CQB, Hazop) that offers specific rewards for completing long specific challenges while using that core. This system would allow players to choose a core to use and go after all of the rewards and than switch to another core if desired to unlock everything for that core. More cores can be added over time as well as new challenges for cores. The Battlepass can still reward some specific armor pieces, but if there was a Core Mastery system it would be an additional and specific way to earn rewards.
Just a thought.

Just saw a few posts that people have finished the Battlepass and now have nothing to do. This is a major problem and as I mentioned will cause players to drop off rapidly.
Without a proper and expansive Commendation system, player rank system and other ways to earn items and XP Halo as a F2P game that is bare bones is a bad recipe for longevity.
Hopefully 343 makes some course adjustments very fast to correct this.

I agree with everything you said. Not sure why they didnt take what they have done in MCC over to Infinite. In MCC you can pick exactly what playlist and mode you want to play, had a great progression system, with good armor to grind for, and it takes a long time to complete. Now that I’m 100 in the battlepass I get nothing for playing except increasing the number on my Onyx which is a joke. This is unacceptable for a triple A F2P game.

agreed, the game is just boring.

Agreed outside of ranked and the BP challenges there’s little reason to stick to matchmaking

Adding new weapons and maps might help but honestly I’m disappointed with character customization I got no good female body types. all my favorite Mark V armor will slowly be dripped in to the game as long as I don’t miss it in the store. I probably won’t get a white and pink skin to be like all my older Spartan color customization feel a lack of identity with my spartan and it sucks

Really too many bugs on top of the cosmetic issues and missing features. Cheaters are more common now, pretty sure we got people running with macros to the point where they are unloading a sidekick clip in half a second. Too many crashes. I’ll finish games and it’ll just say score 0 and I never get credit for that game. So cool winning a ranked game and then it’s just gone. It counts as a quit and you don’t progress challenges either when it happens. And not much incentive to grind ranked either - pretty quickly you just get to where you belong.

I agree 10000% I just made a similar post about how it feels like they don’t care to fix anything that the fans are complaining about. They only care about their battle pass and events. This halo has amazing potential and you would think that after the crash and burn attempt when they tried to implement an idea from Battlefield in Halo Guardians, they would stop trying to steal ideas from other games for money. Focus on Halo not what other companies are doing.
