Current CSR System Will Cause H5 To Fail

Cannot stress enough how bad this League System is. It doesn’t place well, match well, or add replayability through goals at all.

Even though a 1-50 is the clear obvious choice for a CSR system and would undoubetedly be successful I have this feeling 343 will do nothing about the CSR. I think they are too stubborn to change it even though it’s not like they have that much invested in it.

Just played a game in which I, a silver, face all Onyxs, Pros and Semi pros yet I finish with the highest score while Onyxs and pros go -9, etc. And this is a fairly normal occurence. Not only that but for nearly the entire time of the beta I have been stuck iN Silver even though i dominate the compeititon 10.5+KDA 3.0 KD High W/L etc so I have lost all motivation to strive for a higher “League” when it isnt possible due to horrible matching and placing.

Long story short: 343, take out this horrible League CSR, Add 1-50 or something similar (Ya know a ranking system that is unique to Halo unlike this COD League System), and the game could be a success otherwise accept failure now

Am I the only person who doesn’t care about rank? I’ve never noticed any difference in who I play with and against based on our ranks.

A lot of things will kill Halo 5. I don’t think the CSR is the one that will break the camel’s back.

did you get together a team for playing team slayer?

or did you play it solo like it was a FFA using your team mates to mark out enemy locations and be cannon fodder?

And then you’re now upset you didn’t rank up according to your individual skill?

I’m confused with this logic.

Obviously they’ll have a ranked FFA in the final release.

I think it was obvious to anyone that played the Beta that the CSR system they had was either unfinished or completely broken. There was no logical way to tell what influenced the rating. Sure wins and losses contributed positively and negatively to your overall score, but the Class system was completely arbitrary.

For instance I had a 2.1 K/D with a 10.8 K/D/A score (also a completely arbitrary number as it factored in Medals as well), a Win/Loss ratio of 66% and yet could never make it past Tier 2 Gold (the closer I got to Tier 3 the less CSR points I got for each win). Yet there were people who had a 1.0 K/D, a 2.5 K/D/A and a 50% Win/Loss ration and we somehow already ranked as Onyx or Semi-Pro. It was impossible to tell whether the CSR score was either broken or just horribly convoluted. Either way 343 needs to come out and clarify how the CSR system will work in the final game, because as of now no one can figure out how your score is calculated.

Likewise the points you get per match (negative and positive) need to be playlist specific. It’s incredibly frustrating to earn a negative CSR score in Slayer even if you go extremely positive yet lose the game due to poor team mate performance. You can try to carry a team as hard as possible, but sometimes it still isn’t enough and skilled players should not be punished because the game failed to pair them with equally skilled players. What should happen is that CSR is graded differently according to playlists. Slayers games should be based on K/D spread, objective game modes should be based on objective scoring and wins, while Breakout should be based on kills and number of rounds survived.

LOL Uhhh Did you by chance start playing Halo at Reach or something? Because In Halo 2 and 3 obviously if you played Level 30s it was a huyge difference than playing level 5’s. Like this isn’t even up for debate.

Yeah don’t even reply it is obvious you never played H3 or H2 in their orginal states or you wouldn’t have said that

The 1-50 CSR systems are what added epic amounts of replayability to halo 2 and 3 multiplayer. Trying to get that level up was like a -Yoink!- trying to get that next rock.

Obviously there are other things but most of those thiongs are so deeply embedded in the game that I know 343 won’t change them. For example you cannot take out sprint because all of their maps are made for it. Something like the CSR system isn’t that embedded so it could be changed fairly easily.

uhhhhhh You don’t actually have to organize a team just to play Team Slayer. That is sort of what matchmaking is for DERP but yes I have played with friends.

My W/L is higher than 90% of Onyxs I play. If the divisons are based on W/L and mine is higher than Higher ranked players then there is somerthing wrong. My k/D and KDA are way higher than anyone else iN Silver divison so obviously I shouldn’t eb playing them.

You are confused by YOUR logic ya DERP

Looks to me like the most in depth ranking system Halo ever had. You actually get performance points! u also lose points if you play bad.

Actually no points are based on win loss and not performance, did you even play the beta cuz you would know this already? You can go 25-5 & lose & go down in csr.
