Current cosmetics are super bland

All of it is original hand-me-down armor from Halo Reach or some kind of recolor of older armor, no flashy animated armor or shaders. The only interesting cosmetics from the current Battle Pass are the two fire effects that you get towards the end. Why did we go from having unique armor in Season 8 of MCC to having some of the lamest armor and customization, both in the BP AND the microtransaction shop, in Halo Infinite? Hell, even Destiny 2 (and even Destiny 1) has better looking armor that you can earn through gameplay for free, and the ones locked behind a paywall actually look good. Shaders are especially disappointing since the BP has at least two blue shaders that look almost identical.

Season 8 of MCC was how many years in the making?

Current customization options are pretty mild, but I bet anyone here 1 million double dollars that in 1 year it’ll have more crap then we’ll know what to do with.

I like the kill effect at tier 50 too.

The colours are garbage. We have to pay for a battlepass to get bland faded colours? Garbage.

Complaining about the customisation options when we are still in the early release beta.

lol.

Yet 343 is charging for said cosmetics and battle passes when the game is still in the early release beta?

Yeah, we kind of have the right to complain about stuff that’s locked behind a paywall, regardless of the state the game is in.

I’m really upset with a lot of the palette choices (especially with the emblems) and more than once I’ve muttered to myself ā€œis their art department colorblind and just don’t know it?ā€ which I feel bad once I think about it but then I look at the color combinations again and just think ā€œā€¦how?! how did someone sign off on these?ā€

I’ve only really found a few that are good out of like… how many? The Iris or Crocus one, purple with orange accents, the Willow Tea that was last week’s ultimate, the legendary Yoroi coating with red and gold, and the basic Mk7 colors that aren’t grey you start with. The starter grey armor on grey techsuit looks boring as heck. If it weren’t for the outlines I guess you could blend in against a cliff though. Or something.

I think I’ve said this before but if we could like, unlock colors/groups of colors, patterns like camo or striping, and textures like shiny/metallic or rusty, to use to customize each palette slot as we like I think that would really be good. I wouldn’t mind ā€˜the grind’ or paying a little bit to unlock some new colors or designs if I could rearrange them on my armor how I want it. (And to be able to use it on whichever armor core I like! Why are palettes core-locked???)

This is a forum where they are looking for feedback from the players. This ā€œcomplainingā€ is still feedback, even if you feel like people are simply whining.

The full release is in literally 4 days, I don’t think we can call this ā€˜early’ anymore. Yes, it’s going to take more time than most people would like to implement changes that will make things better. But at the same time, again, they are launching the full game in less than a week. So I don’t feel like it’s too much to complain about at this point.

It really is disappointing, especially considering Destiny 2 actually has thousands of shaders in different colors, variants, and texture mapping. Colors should absolutely be unlockable for free— not through a Battle Pass, not through microtransactions.

Yes, we should have a choice of shiny/metallic definitely. How these options are not in the game is baffling.
