Curious question concerning co-op campaign

In past Halo titles, when a person played through the campaign cooperatively, both players assumed the role of the main character and progressed through the campaign as twins. For example, in Halo 2, both players would be either the Master Chief or would be the Arbiter during the play through. Halo 3 and Reach changed that by having each player assume the role of different, separate characters.

The question now is: will Halo 4 revert back to the cloning days, or is 343 holding out on us and waiting to reveal our battle bro? Or do we already have a clue as to who it is?

I think I heard we were back to cloning.

Maybe the three others will be our custom Spartans?

Hopefully it’ll just be MC clones.

Any preferences or reasons why you prefer what you do?

I think kiki wolfkill confirmed it was clones again.

Confirmed to be clones. I don’t have a source, but there probably is one in Enfinit’s sticky.

Yeah, just multiple Chiefs like Halo 1. They said it wouldn’t make sense to have anyone else. Co-op campaign isn’t canon I guess, unlike Halo 3’s. No problem, though.

yes it will be master chief clones

kiki wolfkill confirms it skip to the 4 minute mark

Will 4-player Co-op be available in the main Campaign? It’d be pretty confusing if all of your teammates looked the same.

Campaign will have four player co-op. I don’t think it’ll be that confusing, just as long as you and your friends use mics.

Well, I’m all in for clone army once again
It would be “unfair” for all other players to play as “their spartan” but not the leader/host, not to mention I assume it takes less resources to have 2-4 clones instead of 4 unique spartans with different colours, armor and such.

Or, ya know, you don’t play with friends that think it’s cool to all have the same Service Tag.

Clan?

Clones and frankly that’s fine with me.

More like one dude and his eleven-year old friend.

I made a thread with this Idea about a month ago. unfortunately most poeple felt like statin the obvious over and over again by just telling me" It will be clones".

I figured since we supposedly establish contact with the infinity early on, along with all the spartan IVs on board, that it could be chief and company. However this could prove problematic in the first few missions before he even knows the infinity exists. Perhaps in halo 5 it will work like this.

Another Idea I saw was for players 2-4 to play as blue team(seeing as they have all been recovered from Onyx). This obviously wouldn’t be in halo 4, but perhaps a later game.

Maybe Cortana will generate clones when she activates Chief’s systems in the beginning of Halo 4. (Just a guess…)
