Curious about "Play Anywhere"

Just a quick thing, I Pre-ordered Halo Wars 2 Ultimate edition, and I knew about the “Play anywhere feature” But I heard it was only for digital copies, however upon getting the Physical edition, I managed to get the Halo Wars Definitive edition with a code inside the case. However the code didn’t get me Halo wars 2 on PC (For the Halo APP) So is it only the Definitive edition I can play on my PC? Or is there another code to get Halo wars 2 on PC as well? Thanks

Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is Xbox Play Anywhere, so technically, yes, you will be able to play it on your PC too.

Sorry, I should clarify, can I also play Halo wars 2 on my PC AND Xbone one? Or is Halo wars 1 only for play anywhere?

I remember hearing that if you purchase the Physical Copy for Xbox One, you only have it on Xbox One.

Iff you buy the Digital or Physical Copy for Windows 10, you will receive it for both.

Weird. Really weird. Because I got the physical copy, right? But for some weird reason I can play Halo wars 1 On Both, but not for Halo wars 2, halo wars 2 I can only play on Xbox, if that’s the case, I’m rather disappointed.

Welp, that sucks. Thanks for clearing that up, but that still doesn’t answer the question why I can play Halo wars 1 On both things (PC and Xbox) Even with me buying a physical copy, that claims there is no play anywhere? Huh.

When you purchase the Ultimate Edition you receive a DIGITAL copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, which will feature Xbox Play Anywhere.
