CTF Spawns on Complex

Hello there, waypoint community.

I just played a match of CTF on Complex and was frequently frustrated by the fact that I was getting spawned into the line of fire. I had at least four deaths from such an event that I can recall. I was hoping that maybe, you, 343i, would fix those. Also, please let me know (or rather, simply reply to this forum post) if you are having the same issue. Needless to say it doesn’t have to be on just Complex. In fact, if, in any game mode, you are spawning into the line of fire, please respond here naming the map and the gametype. Hopefully we can get this “call of duty” spawning thing figured out.

Albeit perhaps an obvious fix (though I find those to be the ones less likely to come to mind), I would say the best way to resolve this issue is to move all spawn point for objective game modes inside a fully or semi enclosed structure. This way players have a choice of where to go, and how to address the situation from a tactical standpoint, rather than being forced to start firing from where they spawn, and in all likelihood, die in the process.

In an attempt to fix the problems I have experienced, I have created a variant of Complex with some modified spawning. The changes I made were: Added an anti-respawn zone to the top of the blue base encompassing all the pawn points on top of the base, and the space behind it, added 2 respawn points and a respawn zone inside the blue base, added 3 anti-respawn zones to the red base, one for the respawn points in the corner overlooking the Flag, one on the spawn points directly next to the flag, and one on the spawn points on top of the red base, overlooking the flag, and the ones to the left of those, and I added a respawn zone and 2 safe respawn points to the inside of the red base. All these zones have the CTF modifier applied to them, so the zones will only work in CTF. The spawn points are neutral.

Hopefully 343i will look at this and try it out the file in my file share. If not, at least not I’ve got a good variant of this map for CTF.

CTF on complex is just plain out broken. The team with the flag way out in the open has a major advantage since the only non-exposed way to walk the flag is where that team happens to spawn.

As long as I’m playing with my group of friends, we will never play CTF on complex again.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. CTF on Complex is completely broken. Blue team spawns on low ground out in the open. It’s absolutely moronic. Did they even play-test it? It’s just a hail of DMR fire on spawn while the other team runs a loop of flag captures on a Mongoose.

I think it’s partly that the map and spawns are bad, and partly because the DMR is a BS starting weapon.
