CSR

Was wondering if any of you knew how CSR is determined. The curiosity rose when I became ranked in my slayer playlist. I’m new to halo and pretty green to online pvp. I got ranked silver 1. Which was not expected at all as my friend who is MUCH better than I, with a k/d already more than double mine, is only silver 4. Doesn’t seem like I should be that close to him. So I was just curious if anyone knew how CSR is determined.

CSR is made up of 7 divisions; bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, onyx, and championship. Each of the first 5 divisions are made up of 6 different ranks. You rise and fall through the ranks based on not your k/d but how many games you win or lose after rank diamond 6 you become onyx(semi-pro) where you are ranked my specificly given ELO skill number starting at 1500. Finally, the championship(pro) division is only for the top 200 players in the perticular playlist. I hope this helps you with you Halo 5 experience.

Yah that is. I knew the different ranks and such, just couldn’t figure how in the world it got determined lol. I knew there was no way it could be based on k/d because my friend and I were so close together. Thanks!

Yeah, theres no bearing on K/D as far as I can tell. Its all abou twin loss ratios. Sucks if you’re a lone player and keep getting quitters or bad team members.

I was also curious about this.

and here i was trying for K/D

Horrible system for solo players. A kid going 5 and 10 (KD-DTH ratio) on a winning team will have a higher rank than the guy with a 2 plus KD on the losing team. Ridiculous.

Yes, the ranking system is a HUGE disadvantage for those of us who don’t always play with the same group of good players. Since it’s only based on wins and not personal stats per game you are at the mercy of the matchmaking to end up where you do. Example: I started SWAT with some amazing games including a K/D of 15.7 and the rest averaging around 2 or more, but, being stuck on a losing team most of the time ended me in the GOLD 1 tier BUT my friend who averaged his first 10 games with a K/D of 0.25 landed in the Platinum 1 series because he lucked out and was always on a team that carried him. So, there is no way to reset you rank, but once you get stuck on a losing team enough times your CSR will go down. Even if you stats are low but continue to play with a winning team it’s only going to get harder and harder for you since all those wins will continue to raise your CSR.

When you are being placed it goes by how well you play inside each one of the matches, after that it goes by wins

Not at all. its based only on win/loss

Is there someone that shows the breakdown of the rates? I’d like to send this off a buddy of mine as I can’t seem to find the info you’re talking about.

then what about me being placed in onyx for FFA when I did not win more then 3 matches? If it was I would be placed a lot lower then what I was.

Alright. Can anyone answer this for me. How many wins go up a rank? I’ve been trying to determine this through both forums, info and the game itself. For instance. I go up to diamond 2. Win 3 games. Go up to 3. Then win 4 games. Go up to four. Lose 3 games. Back down to 2. It’s like there is no consistency. It seems to be 3 or 4 games gains you a level. Without losses of course.

I used to believe it was only W/L, but me and a friend played all 10 promo matches for doubles together and I ended up Plat 1 and she got Gold 1, so maybe there is another factor as well.
