I have a question on this season’s CSR scoring. Im usually mid to high diamond player but this time I got onyx 1624 and I felt like I did terrible my placement matches. And my friends who are usually plat players are now high diamond players? I’m confused if they messed up or maybe we got lucky idk. Does anyone else have this problem?

I dunno, I had some pretty horrible teams almost every one of my matches and ended up in Gold 4. I felt like I carried my team through most of them. The only one where I was on the bottom of the list, that team we played were super campy and we managed to come back at the end with a clutch double kill I got in the last seconds to tie us up and my team mopped up the last one clean.
I have no idea how this rank placement system works but I know I can’t really play with my friends and keep ranking up, which kind of sucks.

It works by basing off wins (barely) your K/D and accuracy i believe also who your matched against

Yeah, I know wins has a huge part to do with it at least in lower levels. I almost feel like if I play with my friends then I will be accused of boosting or smurfing which I don’t want(they are very social gamers and not very competitive) as they have even admitted they don’t belong in the gold playlist when they ranked with me and one of them got Gold 6 and the other was a Gold 3. (last season) one of them got pushed to plat 1 on arena and gave up on playing alone lol.

So it basically continues your previous seasons progress in a way (Example: you finished diamond 1 in a playlist and then started a new season. The game will already have you placed somewhere around diamond 1 and will be matching you accordingly. Since your rank takes into account who you play with/against you’ll already have a boost compared to last season since you’ll start off playing against higher level players.)

I know this but what I was curious if it was broken was because I did horrible like enough for people to send messages you suck. But I got mid onyx? It just doesn’t add up

You’ve started playing against better players. More than likely you won some games against decent players that made the game think you’re higher placed than before. The system isn’t perfect, keep in mind, but it’s not terrible

To give you a heads up I went negative every game but one and lost 8 out of the 10 games
Yeah believe in slayer I went from plat 4 to diamond 4
How do you go all the way up to Onyx or Diamond? I can’t seem to cross gold. I got to Gold 5 and then got demoted to Gold 3. How man matches do you have to win in placements? I got 7 wins in 10 matches when I got a Gold 5.

Winning can help but its not really that important from what I see the major things that contribute to your csr when placing is K/D, accuracy, and who you are matched up against. If you are constantly matched up against platinum more than likely you’ll be ranked there etc
Its messed up because everyones CSR is super inflated by the 2 month season. Its making for some really lopsided games too. People who didnt use to get onyxes until halfway through the season are just cannon fodder for 1800+ onyxes who can only get initially ranked 1700.

Yea I’d say I’m high diamond low onyx lvl I can’t compete with high onyx but that’s who I’m up against so playing arena now is kind of a chore at this point
I’m usually mid Plat in team Arena and got diamond 5 this season. Needless to say I’m getting spanked a lot in most matches now.
