2 nights ago, I played 10 games of SWAT, 9 of which I won and I believe 9 of which where I was the top-scoring player on my team (Please check my recent games for anyone who already has their doubts. It’s the stretch of games with 7 wins in a row, 1 loss, and then 2 more wins). During those 9 wins, my CSR in SWAT didn’t move…at all. It just sat there, mocking me after each win by not budging. Last night, I lost the first game I jumped into…my CSR went down immediately. After winning 9 out of 10 games without my CSR increasing at all, a single loss the following day dropped me down. For anyone defending the ranking system at this point, please explain how I’m supposed to feel about that? One of two things happened here. Either the ranking system was just flat-out broken 2 nights ago and wasn’t registering any of my wins, which would be complete -Yoink-, or the ranking system is just absolutely 100% idiotic, which is also complete -Yoink-. If the game is going to make every single playlist ranked, you’d think they could at least be ranked properly.
That’s real unlucky dude, hopefully 343 sees this and sorts it out
Alternativley, the matches you won were against allready low ranked players compare to your own, and the loss was against higher ranked players.
The loss you saw decrease your CSR now then could be against players ranked worse than you.
Reasons being for not ranking up when beating players at a lower rank is that the system already rewarded you earlier for beating players of that skill, or never needed to in the first place. The system expects you to win and does therefore not increase your CSR.
Could that be a reason you think?

I sincerely hope the system doesn’t work that way. If the only way to increase rank is to win against a team of higher ranked players, that would make sense, except that I had 9 wins out of 10 games where the system didn’t match me up with higher ranked players. That means that if I had just so happened to lose any of those games due to crappy teammates or lag or some other circumstances, my rank would’ve gone down. So out of those 9 games I had a ZERO-win situation where no matter what I did, my rank could not possibly increase, but if I lost on the other hand, my rank would decrease. If the system truly works that way, then whoever came up with it should be fired immediately and a new system should be put in place. If the only way to increase rank is to beat higher-ranked opponents, then every game should be against higher-ranked opponents so you at least have a chance to increase your rank
CSR hasn’t worked. bring back halo ranking with improvements

Well, it’s not really how a ranking system work, but in the whole it’s along those lines.
Ranking up is primarily done by beating players close to your own ranking and upwards. You can rank up I think by beating players somewhat ranked below you, but you wouldn’t rank up as much as you would against players ranked higher than you. At some point though you do not get rewarded for beating very lowly ranked players compared to you.
Also, only matching against higher ranked players is an impossibility, as they too would need to be matched against higher ranked players.
Idealy you want matches where ranks are close to each other, however due to lower population and search times, this isn’t always what happens, thus you may get matched unfairly.
YES! that just happened to me twenty minutes ago my score was at 1966 in swat won 6 in a row and did not go up while my friends went up then lost one and dropped 15 points. back down to 1948 very annoying considering i should have been in the 2000. but i then hard restarted my xbox got back on went in a match won and boom! i went up. so im guessing thats how to fix it but i never recieved the all of the points that i should i have recieved for all those wins sadly.

I suspected that aswell, NAQSER until the next match i went 16-3 against all onyx people with 1750 and higher scores and still nothing so i think it just for some reason freezes up or something because like i said in the last post once i hard restarted my xbox and rebooted the game and played people that werent as high as some of the other teams i just played and won and bam went up. so i think its just a bug and needs to be fixed because im very frustrated that i spent two hours winning for nothing .
