Not sure how they base their info on the ranking system. If anyone has any input they would like to throw in here please be my guest because me and my buddies are struggling to figure it out. Here’s what we have been seeing:
My qualifying matches I won 7 out of 10 games with an average KDA of 9 something. Got placed into Gold 2.
A friends qualifying match he won somewhere like 5 out of 10 games with a KDA of 3 something and got Onyx 3.
Another friends qualifying match he won 10 out of 10 games with a KDA of 10 something and got Silver 2.
…
Since then… I have been placed into onyx which is where I beleive I should have been to begin with. Friend 1 has been promoted to Semi-Pro and friend 2 has been promoted to Gold. When we play together, we consistently pull teams with ranks of Onyx or better. If we win my friend who is Gold gets somewhere from 10 to 14 points. If we lose… he has been losing 20 points or more… as of the last few games.
Not really sure how they judge this. Me and friend number two both had better records for quals yet both got placed behind my first buddy.
Now… My friend who is in Gold is consistently out playing us (he’s alarmingly good) and yet he’s losing more points than us when he’s playing people in two or three tiers ahead of him.
I’ve done some digging and can find nothing from 343i about how they base it. We assume wins/losses obviously have some sort of effect. As do your personal stats. Does the game take into account who you’re playing or no?? It seems it does not…
For the most part it is only Win/loss. I have been at the top of the leaderboard in several matches but, have been unfortunate enough to be put on the losing team and I have payed for my teammate’s skill dearly. I don’t believe the game takes into account the skills of other players though (which it should in the final game). I honestly don’t believe your personal contribution matters at all.
i have a 13.5 kda and im silver 2. same win loss% of a friend who is a 2 kda but he is rated higher. no idea how it works

Well… on that note. My buddy played all of his with his wife. They had the exact W/L ratio and he was placed Onyx 3 while she was put in Silver 2. The stats were very different.
She ended with a KDA of -2 or something while he maintained a KDA of +8.

Hmm. Maybe your personal stats do matter although it never really feels like for me.
Well consider yourself lucky. I also won 7/10 games. I had a 3.0+K/D 11.0+KDA yet I was placed in BRONZE. I have made it to silver 1 but have plateued for absolutely no reason. My stats are still the same. I play people with negative KDs and horrible w/l yet they are always a higher tier. It’s kind of funny all I get matched with is scrubs and I annilhate them over anmd over again. Never dominated halo so much in my life. I have a COD K/D for christs sake
The ranking system is broken AND boring. Some people are already Onyx-Pro and it is only the beta. What will these people do who get Pro right away have to strive for? Nothing

I won 9/10 games, got a 2. something KD and a 6.3 KDA and got placed in BRONZE ONE. 343 get your -yoink- together.
I would like to know this as I was playing on my brothers account on slayer to qualify and I won 9/10 matches came top of the team every match I even came best overall out of both teams I came first and it put me in gold 4 and that is not right I was positive every single game I did top and best so why was I placed in gold 4 can some one please tell me
Haha I’m seeing a lot of people here with really good K/D scores and win/loss stats who, like me, are confused as to how our csr rank is calculated. I on the other hand did not do all that well in my 10 game pre rank for slayer, but ended up with diamond 2 level after the tenth game…I was like wtf? Really? I started to think it was Kill/death related but I don’t know. I assumed it was win/loss based. I definitely lost over 5/10 matches.
