That’s what I gathered anyway from… Halo 4: The New Title Update and Competitive Skill Rankings - PAX East - IGN
I was ecstatic to see them finally talk at length about CSR and I also think its cool that there is going to be a CSR for each playlist so that might encourage more casual minded players to play for the win a little more. So that XXMLGSlayer45XX who only plays Flood to get his K/d up and that camo-camping kid in Big Team might be a little more inclined to play a little more pro-actively
But am I understanding that correctly? They are going to reset ranks when you hit 50?
So when I put lots of time and effort into getting a 50 in FFA for example then one week later or something 343 are going to reset my rank?
If I’ve understood this correctly (which I hope I haven’t) then then that is going to suuuuuuck.
Please tell me I’m wrong…
What I got from the video was they may reset peoples ranks after a long period of time, or they may not.
The Bulletin on Wednesday will clear up a lot of confusion, it’ll be best just to wait until then.

I really hope they don’t reset 50’s, If I put the time and effort into getting a 50 well then I want it to stay there forever, because I’ve earned it. I remember in one of the Ready Up Live videos they talked about once you get a 50 (in Halo 3) you are stuck there so that top group of players who may essentially be a rank 60 or onward are stuck at 50 so people that are trying to get a 50 are forced to play people that are better than them. Meaning the top group of players are compressed together, which I understand, but resetting ranks is not the answer!!
In h2 and 3 once you got a 50 in one playlist you tried to get another 50 in another playlist. This is what kept me playing for years. If they are just going to reset the ranks at some point well then I don’t see the point…

I think we can largely say that issue is a thing of the past, kids are going to care about a website-based rank, so selling accounts (I would imagine) wont really be happening.
I just cant believe that If I’m going to put time and effort into getting a 50 that 343 are going to just take it away from me.
Maybe a legacy option would be cool or something that shows the previous 50’s I have earned. A legacy option view-able by all that I can lord over other people.

You know, if you put the time and effort into getting the 50. You can put the effort to keep that 50.
But that legacy idea is great. A little scoreboard type thing for yourself telling you your personal highest CSR in each playlist.

I believe it’s going to be something like say you don’t play throw down for lik 5-6 months probably longer but after that times passed your rank gets reset I would of liked this better if we could have CSR in game.

I get the rank being re-set thing, I just think there should be a “legacy” option or something that clearly details past 50’s you’ve attained. Clear so I can show people or so they can look it up. Yes I want to show it off.
I doubt they are going to reset you once you hit 50. The CSR on Waypoint is there so you can’t actually sell your 50, besides I don’t think people are gonna care at all since it’s on Waypoint.
