CSR put nail in Halo 4 coffin?

I find it soooo funny how everyone kept saying the CSR will save Halo 4.

Did it?

Honestly, I say it made it worse.

The game is now turned into mostly a camping fest instead of the run and gun style that made Halo 4 so enjoyable. Halo from the beginning for me back on Xbox 1 was all run and gun. Now it is like Gears of Camp with all the slow and LONG matches of camping and wall hugging.

Granted run and gun is what I want in a FPS, some people do not. But I always felt Halo was run and gun. That was its bread and butter.

Probably get banned since I disagree with the game. Banning seems to be the most common “threat” in these forums than any post about Halo.

I honestly doubt you’ve noticed any real gameplay difference. I guarantee that less than half of the people playing halo 4 currently realize that any change has occured. Halo 4 hasn’t gotten any more competitive, only a little more worthwhile to play because of the CSR.

I haven’t noticed any more camping than before, I have noticed more competitive matches from time to time.

But anyways, CSR alone will never save the game, much less a CSR on waypoint only that is laggy and one game behind.

Population has also increased somewhat. Infinity Slayer, BTB, and Castle DLC are pulling higher numbers. CTF has 3000 right now, that playlist is usually around 2k.

I honestly think it helped Halo 4 a bit.

11k people on Big Team alone when I was on last night, most there’s been in a while I think.

Also Halo has never been anywhere near “dead” for me… So, there is no coffin.

Halo 4 has ALWAYS been a campfest. You have the DMR, ordnance and the lack of weapons spawning in fixed positions on fixed timers to blame for the absurd amount of campers.

OP: I know what you mean. I actually play a lot less since it came out. I don’t know if it’s because trueskill got reset or people are trying to play more effectively, but each time I end up with some very aggressive BR maniacs on 4v4 and DMR snipers on BTB. I was hoping for finishing LR mastery this week, but I think I will wait few days until things calm down.

CSR didn’t cause camping. The ability to go invisible at any moment mixed with a starting mini sniper and power weapons handed to you at your spawn caused the increased camping.

An online CSR won’t fix the game in anyway. Visible won;t either. I believe that no matter what they do with Halo 5 the end result will be the same.

I don’t think that it put the nail in the coffin at all. For me at least, I now have something to work for. I haven’t noticed any more camping than usual. I just feel it adds another layer to the game for competitive players like myself.

I played my first three games yesterday in Infinity Slayer ended up a CSR 12. Pretty happy about that.

I love the CSR idea. While I wish it was in game, I’m happier to have it in some form than not at all.
