So when the game came out on Tuesday, my wife, brother and I all played Team Slayer. We played 6 matches before my brother had to get off and my wife wanted to go to bed, I finished playing my 4 matches and got into gold rank. Sweet. I tell my wife to play her remaining 4 matches before I get home from work the next day so that we can get matched up better (and playing solo allowed for easier matchups than playing in a team). She got Silver, not bad. My brother also got gold and so we started playing matches together. My brother and I were able to rank up to Gold 2/3 before going back down due to losses. My wife never moved off of Silver 1. My wife will never be able to catch up to my brother and me if she ranks up at a lower rate than us.
Stupid Part #2
Last night we decided to play swat and get our placement matches in. One of our friends joined my wife and I and we did pretty well in the playlist. I got ranked diamond and was pretty happy about it, our friend had a KDA of -0.9, and a KD of 0.895. My wife had a KDA of -0.5 and a KD of 0.895.
Looks like my wife did slightly better but not enough that it should make a difference between their starting ranks.
Friend got Platinum
Wife got Gold
So ignoring the fact that we played all 10 matches together and got placed in 3 completely separate rankings (which is broken), if we continue to play SWAT they will still rank up at a slower rate than me even though we have played all our matches together (which is stupid)
Get rid of these stupid placement matches, or if you played with a fireteam the entire time you were being placed everyone in that fireteam should be the same rank!
My wife has already expressed that if she can’t catch up to my rank by playing with me and the only way for her to rank up is by playing alone, she will stop playing altogether.
Please fix this!
I was ranked a Gold 1 in SWAT while my buddy was ranked Onyx right off the bat. Him and I grinded the next day and I started the day off at Gold 2 already with a win under my belt and we then went on an eleven game win streak and I got up to Gold 4 maybe 5. It took us the rest of the day to finally get me up to Plat 3, and he’s almost at champion level. And the funny thing is, is that I end up doing better than him and destroying other Onyx/Diamond players that we were get matched with. But I’m still in Plat…while he’s on his way to Champion. All I know is that when I finally reach Onyx, I’m going to have to go through the same experience all over again just to catch up to my friend…
Agreed. It put me in Gold 1 for weekend doubles despite the fact that I curb stomped some platinum and diamond players. I got paired with an onyx and he didn’t do all that much better than me. In Slayer I’ve been on teams with all gold players and gotten curb stomped by teams with two gold and two silver. It really makes no sense. I wish I could play in onyx lobbies so I could get better and see how I stack up with other people in that rank but who knows. It’s so broken that it seems like very few people have been placed where they belong.

I destroyed but got held back because my team of random people sucked. I’ll never get ahead if I’m being held back. Most matches aren’t a challenge because I’m not where I should be but because my team loses usually I stay where I am. It shouldnt be team based that’s dumb I wanna know what I myself am ranked not how often I win on a team with randoms. Makes no sense 343.
i went straight to onyx after my placement matches in swat and got placed in platinum in team slayer and team arena when i was onyx last season in those playlists

^This most annoying thing ever I play solo becuz I don’t use a Mic and ppl hate that I grinded my way up to platinum in all playlists in season one. Never again most frustrating thing I’ve ever been through. So I just play the game it ranked me silver this time lol I’m way to good to be in silver but whatever it’s good for my kda I guess. Although I had a lot more fun in platinum matches were more balanced it’s just to hard to try n grind out wins playing solo they should have a mercenary playlist, no parties allowed

Theres more team shooting and timing is huge. I see a lo of lower ranks that have good aim they just dont have good positioning or in objective games they dont know when to pull flag or how to cover a run. They have good aim they just need everything else to get up there.
It also goes off of past ranks. If you were Gold in a past season you are much more likely to place Gold no matter how you do in your placements.

this changed the ranks this season. I was onyx last and played platinum on this one. It took me over 120 games to rank back up to onyx (winning/losing) in team slayer.
