CSR not visible

I understand that this is going to be visible on Waypoint only. My question is why it can’t be displayed on your Service Record? Service Record already shows how many games you have played, kills, deaths, etc etc. Why can’t it be visible there, at least your highest CSR rank like Reach did. I am just at a loss for words. I am a Database Administrator for a company. To me, it is as easy as a SQL statement to the Waypoint database that holds your data and pull that information just as your games played, kills, and deaths are shown. I can understand them saying they can’t change the UI on the player tiles before the games but they can still show it in your Service Record.

Sorry for the rant, but this is just frustrating. I just want to enjoy the game like I did back in the Halo 2 & 3 days. I understand that people are going to flame on me, but this game is starting to head in the right direction. I just want that competitive spirit back and more people to come back and play. I know I haven’t played this game in a while because all my friends stop playing this game because it isn’t competitive and there isn’t really a point after you hit 130.

I’m speculating here that having your CSR visible in game in any fashion makes your account a commodity if your CSR is high.

343i is striking a balance between any visible CSR and no visible CSR. If it’s not visible in the game, that makes it harder to prove the account’s value, but not impossible. My personal opinion is that any account with a high CSR in any competitive playlist will make that account a commodity regardless of whether or not it’s visible in the game. I foresee account selling making a big return.

either they can’t or they wont but that should be the least of your worries…
CSR - The Big Picture

I saw the video of the the CSR at PAX and personally I am impressed. I still would like to have it in game, but as they displayed it I can check out recent games on waypoint and view everyone’s CSR at the time of the game. I am looking forward to its launch.

If it at least puts you in games with similarly skilled players, then what’s the problem?

From what I hear, it has something to do with the UI of the game not allowing for it. Sucks, but I suppose it is better than nothing.

No, I am pretty sure it has to do with Frankie wanting less cheating and selling of accounts. According to Frankie the cheating and selling of accounts was really rampant during Halo 3. So the philosophy adopted is if a few abuse the system they remove it for everyone.

This is the equivalent of Baseball deciding to stop keeping team records or individual stats because some players decided to cheat and use steroids.

My reply to people buying accounts is: how does it affect you as a player? The person that bought the account more than likely does not deserve it so that player will get stomped in matchmaking thus making it easier for you to win against that team. Now I realize that same person can/will be on your team from time to time, but when you are at or near that 50 rank you are more than likely to be playing with friends or other good teammates. I can’t tell you how many times in Halo 3 after the game was done I would invite other people that did well to team up. This also makes for a better time playing since you will make friends and enjoy the game more with solid teamwork and strategy for a common goal. More than likely that person isn’t going to be playing on his/her 50 because they WILL lose it thus making their purchase worthless.

I just feel like account selling is a bad argument as to why CSR is not visible. 343 has already said they are going to be resetting your rank every so often so buying a 50 will be worthless when it resets.

Think it comes down to how it fits into the game engine. Probably need to patch all kinds of things at game and xbl levels.

Frankly I would rather they focus on other improvements. The Halo 3 ranks really didn’t mean anything you could trust. Too much cheating and rage for my taste.

But I will say this: if they bring VIGR back for H5 then they should separate out the Objective and Slayer game types, cuz gaming the one rank in H3 was farcical.

Oh god not account selling again. It was such a lame thing

They specifically said that they can’t add it in game because of the way it was made. It’s not a big deal to get on waypoint…

They shouldnt even have made it if we cant see it in-game.

“Technical and UI limitations” according to 343i, which sucks. I really wanted it to be in-game.

Judge Judy always says “that if it doesn’t make any sense then it isn’t true”. The user interface excuse simply doesn’t make any sense and who am I to disagree with Judge Judy?

Do you know what does make sense to me? That the bald sweaty sock [REDACTED] resents the ranking system because he’s hopeless at the game he’s spent decades on. He hates halo. And if he hates it he’s going to make sure we all hate Halo. [REDACTED] loves every complaint thread on here and he despises every single one of you fan boys that continue to the love the game that he’s tearing apart with his Loathing. And if it makes sense, it’s true.

My CSR is not showing up in waypoint even if I played a couple of games. My friend CSR is showing up but he have not played since March?
