So I want to get a discussion going on the topic of CSR locking. I and practically all of my friends who I grind arena with have been running into the same issue this season. We complete our placement games and move up the ranks and run into a wall. That wall being the CSR locking. My main question is how does one get out of the CSR lock? I understand that the MMR has to come up but if I am winning something like 20-30 games in a row and my csr is still locked doesn’t that sound a little bit extreme?

A quick fill in: ranking has been changed to become a more accurate representation of skill. This means that once your CSR and hidden MMR (skill) ratings match, CSR gains will be reduced to +1 point for as long as your MMR does not increase with it (similarly, CSR losses will only be -1 so long as your MMR doesn’t decrease). In this way, player ranks actually represent how good they are, instead of just how many games they’ve won. Basically, 343i does not want rank to be some grindable value, but rather a reflection of your true skill.
Also, this season, CSR was set 200 points behind MMR after qualifying (4 tiers), so that players could still have a sense of progression after qualifying.
