No,Only Halo 4 affects the Halo 4 CSR

Nope but your Reach stats are still being recorded on Waypoint. Some sites utilize your Halo Reach rank for other things too so it’s still worth playing. Unfortunately Halo 3 stats are pretty much redundant now though as most sites don’t update them anymore.

Your brother is wrong then, there is absolutely nothing in Halo Reach that affects CSR.
