I’m making an observation here not complaining. I’ve played thousands of FFA games across multiple Halo titles so I do understand Trueskill and the impact of ‘losing’ to a lower ranked person.
I used to say that it didn’t matter the population was dropping as I still got games. The flipside is there’s no depth to CSR in the playlist so I get majorly punished if I don’t finish 1st. Even when I do finish first the lower rank of the people I beat isn’t giving Trueskil any impact as I’m expected to win every game now.

10 1sts, 3 2nds, 1 3rd and 1 4th - never has there been a truer statement of ‘If you’re not first you’re last’ in this playlist. Looks like I should just concentrate on Rumble Pit. Problem is I don’t mind Regicide but the King doesn’t get a huge reward for having a big marker on their head for most of the game. The concept of Power Slayer in Reach could apply to the King or I would like to see the powerups happen faster.
Indeed it’s ridiculous! I went down from 48 to 43 despite always being first or sometimes second. Also the dnf from host will get u deranked. So for me there is no reason to play regicide any longer as it is frustrating!
Not sure what to say. I’ve been playing regicide too, but only moving up slowly. I win the majority of my games. I haven’t been deranked yet. Went from 39 to 40 last I played. Rumble Pit hasn’t punished me yet either, even though I’m more likely to be inconsistent.

It’s very hard man. Going from 40-50 was the roughest experience, my rank was dropping and increasing almost every time I checked due to 2nd place losses, it was only until I got a really nice streak of lucky 1st place finishes until I hit my 50. I think this playlist should rank up the top 3 or even top 2, getting first against equal skill players with a crown above your head is little unfair.
Honestly the king should always be worth 15 points tot. The 2 powerups should happen at 29 and 49 seconds, because at CSR 40+ it is near impossible to live or fight anyone 1v1 because the waypoint makes it easy for everyone to predict your movement. It sucks. Theres no benefit to being the King at all.
Outbreak knows where it is at. The powerups need to be quicker or more dominant.

King Spree - automatic Damage Boost plus overshield
Juggernaut Halo 3 was a good example - overshield straight away.
King should get more points for everyone he kills.
Keep the bounty at 25, but king should get 15 points for kills because he has the hardest job overall.
You should want to be king. Most people just wait til the end of the match to claim it.

This. I’m tired of going 30-15 and almost losing to someone that goes 17-25.
CSR should go up if you place top 2 instead of just 1st.

It’s not about placing, it’s about who you win against and lose against. The OP isn’t ranking up because when he wins, it’s against lower leveled players. But when he gets second place behind someone 10 ranks lower than him he’ll probably rank down.
The ranking system works, but the problem is that there simply aren’t enough people of OP’s similar rank searching regicide (partly because the overall population is so low). So he is forced to play against people of lower level. If he wins, he doesn’t go up because the game expects him to win, if he loses he goes down. Lose lose situation.
