How can you derank off a win and not get back next game when you win this games is officially crap. I don’t know why i keep playing this game. Must be cause i love Halo. This happened as well to my friend in CTF and win never lose in that playlist so i don’t understand this. So someone explain this to me.
In a lot of game types it’s not about whether you win or lose but rather your placement at the end of the game. If you want to go up in rank, make sure your individual score is the highest out of both teams.
There are some other game types where this is not the case.
Here is the official story:

Hi, Rectifi. There are two different ways CSR is calculated. You can read about each of them here:

One thing to keep in mind is that you’re always one game ahead of your CSR. So, after you play a game, your CSR reflects the game before that one (it’s a little confusing, I know). Hopefully the above article sheds a little light on the situation.
EDIT: Beat by ddervisk. RAGE!!
I’m playing Flood and i got like 4 1st places in a row and deranked in that span after i just got my 47. So i’m pretty mad atm.

Were you 1st based on score, or kills? There is a difference.
Score obviously
CSR factors in the levels of your opposition along with simply finishing in first place. If you are beating players that have a lower CSR than you, you aren’t going to rank up and a loss will most likely rank you down. As Flood is not a competitive gametype, it is likely that there aren’t many people around your high level (47) and therefore it will be very difficult for you to rank up.

It’s like i said i won 4 games in a row 1st place then i check the recent games and i deranked off a win

You also have quite a few games that are listed as ‘DNF’ or ‘Did not finish’. Any time you quit a game, or get a DNF, you’re automatically counted as having the lowest score in the game, and your rank adjusted accordingly.

Another great issue that ruins Halo 4 multiplayer.

Perhaps it ‘ruins’ being able to keep accurate stats, but it hardly ruins multiplayer as a whole, unless it’s due to numerous black screens in a single game, but I’ve even had perfect, lag free games come up as DNF.

It ruins win rates and CSR. It doesnt happen “that much” and yes it doesnt really effect the game itself like you already said.
But in the year 2013 it should never happen, I cant remember that from Halo 3 or reach.
I love to play with my team competitive, win every game and get CSR 50 in every playlist.
This DNF glitch kind of destroys my motivation. When you really fight against good enemyes, every kill or flag is important “but in the end it doesnt even matter.” ;D
yea i do the dnf glitch flood is and impossible 50 without doing it if you don’t get first you go down, even the worst kids who are horrible at the game can win in flood. 343 is the ones who made csr this way im just taking advantage of their mistake. That’s probably why there is so many people who quit out.

You do realize that by quitting out of games you’re not helping yourself, right? As is evident by the fact you’re either not ranking up, or de-ranking after a victory.
Edit : Basically, by quitting a game and attempting whatever ‘glitch’ you think you might be doing, you’re automatically putting yourself in LAST place. Which, as you said yourself, if you don’t place 1st, you will rank down. Couple that with what BS Angel said about the system taking a few games to catch up, and there’s the solution to your issue.
There are no ‘mistakes to take advantage of’ with CSR. You’re screwing yourself over by doing it that way.
Score based rank is ridiculous. How can I get more kills, assists and less deaths than anyone else in the game and be deranked because they get more avenger, reload this, revenge and other meaningless medals? This is why csr is another irrelevant gimmick based level and not a serious or accurate skill based rank.

I have no idea what glitch you’re talking about, but as long as you keep leaving your games early, your CSR will keep going down. In order to rank up, you need to consistently both finish your games and place high. It’s better to finish a game in second, third, fourth, etc. than to quit.

No matter how you calculate rank, it’s going to have flaws. For example, a system that ranks by K/D would give the coward who sat at the base getting the Sniper whenever it spawned and went 8-0 a higher rating than the player who carried the team with 20-13.
It should be more heavily geared towards wins.
Winning should play a much larger roll in ranking up, I’d go so far as to say it should be the ONLY factor in any playlist.
DNFs (quitting or, unfortunately, lag outs) should be punished instantly. You quit, you go down a rank - no questions asked.

I agree 100%.
You’re playing Flood; one of the most casual playlists. Why do you care about CSR? It shouldn’t even apply to that playlist.
The CSR was actually implemented pretty well, in my opinion.
The only problem I’ve come across is a flaw in the individual skill-based CSR playlists. You can outperform every member of the other team, but still lose a CSR rank because you’re own teammates outperform you. That is, for lack of a better word, idiotic.
