CSR is broken, suprise suprise...

I know you’d need to lay a lot of games to have an accurate rating, but here’s my case

Seriously though 3 games of team snipers, went 17-1, 16-1 and 13-8, and I only have a CSR of 10…team won all 3 as well.
I know the more games you play the more accurate it is, but I’d think it might be a bit higher than 10 considering thats a K/D of 4.6 across the three games…

And to have solely win/loss based CSR for some playlists is a joke. Potentially you can go AFK for all the games you play and have a CSR of 50…because the rest of the team carries you.

Maybe have both individual and team based CSR’s, that’d give an idea of how well a player performs individually and as part of a team!

Often the ranks of others in the match are just as important as your score. Beating very low ranks does little for your CSR, whereas holding your own against higher ranked players will rank you up quicker.

I don’t know why people are confused about the ‘random’ nature of ranking up or W/L based playlists - these exact same issues happened throughout Halo 3.

“I jumped up approximately 3.3 in rank per game, it’s broken because I’m not a 50 after 3 games!”

Dude, CSR doesn’t estimate your skill by averaging it out between games you play. It CLIMBS you from 1-50 OVER TIME based on games you’ve played. Get over yourself, in Halo 2 you’d only be a 4, and in Halo 3 you’d only be a 6.

And the only playlists based off of just win/loss are Objective gametypes.

You ever been outnumbered in an objective game? It’s completely unfair, you don’t stand a chance even against players significantly worse than you, because of sheer numbers.

Halo 3’s skill based system was based off of sheer wins and losses, and I’d say it worked pretty well for 99% of players.

Tell it to me. I played all the morning, I lost like 2-3 games, however in all my matches I did pretty well, ending in the top (1-2-3), if bad I was 4-5th place, plus positive K/D and most of my adversaries were pretty descent, and I only went up 4 levels, I expected more, I don’t know, maybe 8 levels ? but 4? seriously?

In Halo 3 once you were in the 40s you usually had to win basically all day every day for several days straight just to bump yourself up one level.

It gets slower the higher you get.

Same way in Halo 3 suck it up you wanted it this way.

Pretty much what Fos said. I got to 25 in Btb from around 5 games, but it took like 7 1st place games to go from 49-50 in H4. Back in H3, it could take hours of winning just to move up one level at the higher ranks.

Strange, since I remember reaching 45 was pretty easy and fast, the tough part was over passing 47. And in Halo 4 I’m 37, being 33 when I started playing. Anyways, I’ll keep playing and counting the games so maybe I can see how this works.

@Sniipa - The system definitely isn’t as time consuming as in Halo 3, but it certainly does get more challenging in the higher ranks.

jeez does anybody think to not complain about this game and just play it? CSR in Halo 3 was purely win based and it was great, thats what everybody asked for and it’s what we got. thankfully the ranks don’t jump up as stupidly fast as you want them too or most people would already be 50’s and bored again.

Let’s sake you were already a 50 in every playlist and you started a new account to rank up it would usually take you 120-200 games in Lone Wolf to become a 50 again, and around 80-150 games in the other playlists.

Remember, that’s only the case if you got the skill.

Everyone seems to be going on about “The higher you get, the harder it is”.
True enough, but not at the other end of the ladder…

As I said in the OP, I didn’t expect to be a CSR 50, or even a 30 after 3 games.
I was however expecting to get maybe something like a CSR 18 or 19, especially since team snipers is individually ranked!
And the fact that the CSr was only an 11 after the 2 games where I only died once each game and got 17 and 16 kills respectively…

To only get a CSR 11 max, with a high K/D is just sad and depressing…

Again, it often heavily depends on the ranks of others in the game as if your were only beating low leveled players it isn’t going to do much good for your CSR.

U played 3 games and expected a huge jump?
Riiiiiiiiiiiight…

You must have hated Halo 2/3’s ranking systems as well then.
