CSR is broken, going 25-5 deranks you

I was at a 45 in Big Team Slayer, went 25-5 the next game and I went down in rank, HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK!?! can someone explain this to me?

CSR is one match behind. You probably did poorly the previous game.

What did you go the game before?

I think it has some issues. I am pretty sure 343 said that losing against a higher rank would derank me less than losing against a lower rank, but checking my Flood Stats from yesterday it does not seem like it to me. I got deranked equally and I was playing against some really good players.

It does have some problems. Mainly that it’s always a game behind. I don’t know why it can’t keep up with the last game you played. It also doesn’t match you with people your skill level. A CSR 50 can get matched with a 1.

15-4, i went 15-4 and got deranked?

And if said 50 loses to said 1, then said 50 is no longer a 50

I checked your stats, multi-able people did better than you the game before, including a lvl 17, that’s why.

Is there an article or thread somewhere that explains how it works per playlist?

It rates you based on the amount of points you get, not your overall K/D ratio. So, if your points were lower than others, you’ll get deranked.

Tell me about it. It’s near impossible to rank up in the Dominion playlist, even though on most matches, you as an individual get a lot points for base captures, turrets destroyed and so forth.

haha is this a joke? Im already a level 50…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Dominion is one of the playlists that ranks you based on win/lose, so points don’t rank you up, winning does. The good thing is that if your team wins, every member of that team ranks up, but it’s the same vice versa.

Congratulations, you got rank 50 on Halo 4 easiest playlist. Now try get rank 50 in Team Throwndown, then you got something to actually brag about.

I think the bigger problem is not that losing can knock you down a rank, but that the spread of people in a match can be so damn big that sometimes players don’t stand a freaking chance. I’ve seen times when the top CSR is 50 and the bottom is in the mid-low teens. When the skill gap is more than 30 points, I have to wonder about the validity of even having CSR. And as more people leave the game over various annoyances with 343, these kind of matchups are only going to become more and more common, until the top players grow bored with not having much of a challenge and the bottom ranked players get sick of losing every game, until no one is left to play anything. Honestly, I think CSR just made things worse.

This is correct. Dominion is a team oriented playlist and thus you are ranked as well as your team does.

BTB isn’t difficult, I’ve played about 3-4 games since the CSR and I’m at 33 for it.
