CSR doesn't work, suprise, suprise...

Okay, well some people here might see this as narcissistic or whinging, whatever.

Anyway here’s my case:

I played about 15 games of Castle DLC yesterday, probably got an average KD of maybe 1.5-1.6 across all the games…But my CSR is 1 for Castle…
I think I’m much better than that 343, I think a 1.5Kd average is a 20+ CSR, probably more?

Played about 6 games of Regicide yesterday, again probably got a KD of about 1.5-1.6 maybe more. CSR is only 9…

343, don’t even try to tell me the system isn’t broken. I don’t expect to have a CSR of 50, but I do expect it to be a bit higher than 9 for regicide and 1 for Castle…Its not as if I went terrible or anything…

#1 That playlist is Team based so even if you do well you still need to win in order to rank up.

#2 Don’t you think that after just 6 games in Regicide and CSR of 9 is decent, it’s not like you would automatically turn to say LV 50 after just 6 games.

Also facing of against low level players won’t do any good for your rank, will take longer to reach higher ranks

I wasn’t expecting a lvl 50 CSR, but as I stated above, maybe a lvl 20?

If you were last on your team your csr wouldn’t go up that much even if you won and had a positive k/d. It’s much easier to rank up in FFA playlists like rumble pit and regicide. You haven’t really played that many games, so you can’t expect your csr to jump to a 25 after 10 games.

In Castle DLC you need to win - as a team.

In Regicide you need the highest score (I think).

a.k.a. we don’t give a -Yoink- about your K/D and neither does CSR.

Thank you for your feedback. As stated above, Castle DLC is a team-scored playlist, and your CSR will depend on your wins and losses. If you win, your CSR can go up, and if you lose, it can go down.

For Regicide, 6 wins and a level 9 is entirely possible. Regicide is individually ranked, and you will rank up faster if you are winning or placing well.

Hmm, only problem with win/loss rankings is that its near impossible to communicate with the other people on your team because most people don’t seem to have a mic…

Maybe have both individual and team based CSR’s for playlists?

So basically if you search solo you’re hosed for CSR on Castle DLC. I’ll be forever 1 as I win about 50 percent of the time since I’m either paired with idiots who repeatedly run into the opposing team and die or MLG pros with K/D’s of 2 who pretty much carry me to victory. Yay!

I feel your pain, same situation here I think an individual CSR rank that sort of factors in win/loss is better than relying solely on Win/loss

But just because someone has a K/D of 2 doesn’t mean they’re MLG pro…
I’ve got a K/D of 2 and I’ve been belted by someone who’s competed at an MLG tourney…

CSR in some ways doesn’t reflect how good of a player you are.
I have noticed that there are players that have a negative K/D overall and are double my CSR.

After seeing these types of CSR results it seems like a false statement of player skill IMO.

Agreed, this is where I am at too. Have played about 25 Castle DLC games and am a CSR 2!?!? I thought this was competitive skill rank, not which team has more idiots rank.

The other problem is, if the matchmaking system actually worked and teams were always fairly even, then you should always win/lose about 50% of your games. Meaning that if the matchmaking system is working, everyone would be a CSR 1! How is that a competitive SKILL rank? CSR is a joke.

yeah, the CSR for a certain single game is broken as well. I went 18 kills and 1 death, our team won 600 to 370 and I got a running riot, 2 double kills, a wingman and 6 assists. yet when I check on waypoint it says my CSR is 3. what is even scarier is that someone who went 19 kills and 12 deaths got a CSR of 10. is there something I am missing here or is the system completely and utterly broken?

Are you sure that the CSR 10 wasn’t already a 9 or 10 before the game, as it seems unlikely for someone to get to 10 in one match (particularly if they didn’t finish first)?

@ the Op - you should probably check your facts before claiming ‘CSR is broken’.

but on waypoint on the carnage results or whatever they’re called it said “CSR for this game” so that must mean based on that one game surely?

I’m pretty sure the ‘CSR for this game’ refers to a players CSR when starting the game, whilst the CSR symbol next to a players name is their all time high CSR.
