Why does Halo use your all-time CSR for matching of any gametype? Is that how it works? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a CSR for each game type? Such as one for Team Arena, TS, Swat, etc…

It’s probably just me but I feel like I’ve been getting screwed in matchmaking with placement matches.

IIRC, didn’t 343 say there was a problem with the preseason ranking system and they were correcting it? That probably had to do with why I got an Onyx CSR in Swat in preseason and now it uses that as my all-time CSR for matchmaking. It is confusing to me as to why the system uses an Onyx CSR in Swat to match you in Team Arena, or other gametypes. I’m a mid-level platinum player at best, so I feel like the deck is always stacked against me. I’m almost to the point of creating a new account just to see if there are any differences.

It’d really be nice to understand with clarity how the CSR system truly works.

Pretty sure it doesn’t do that, but it does use your previous seasons ranking with the current seasons placement matches.

for the first 10 matches, I think it goes by which games you win against which ranks. I think it also goes by how well you do in the match

I’m dubious as to wether or not they use the same csr across different gametypes but I agree that some clarity would be handy

Handy? That’s the understatement of the year. They won’t even address the lag problem.
