Cruisers battles (MP)

Although the game is almost complete, I’ve thought how it would be a playlist, where you could pilot Covenant Cruisers, Human Cruisers, Sabres, etc. You could use their weapons (as in the books), move around that section of the space, and some interesting features I like:

  • Some type of Slipspace Rupture to avoid enemies.
  • Possibility of piloting Pelicans. Your teammates could go out with them, and get to the enemy cruiser.
  • Autodestruction.

What do you think?

Hell yes!

I was thinking that 343i could make a game like this as a side project. Could be interesting if created correctly. But it would never be possible to put it in Halo 4 at this stage. And I think it would eat up too much disk space. So as it’s own game, maybe, as a playlist in Halo 4-6, no.

In that case, maybe for Halo 5. But I don’t think the price would stay at 60$ anymore. That’s why I’d prefer it as it’s own game. Some people wouldn’t like it and maybe they don’t want to pay more money for something they won’t play.

Anyone else play Star Wars Battlefront 2?? Best example of this in this game

I was thinking about this while playing Star Trek Online, and i was thinking that massive space battle between the Humans and The Covenant would be awesome. Maybe a Preston J. Cole campaign would be cool, because his battles are meant to be “Legendary” according to the books.

I will admit I have considered such grandeur in my mind, on multiple occasions. With such mind boggling amounts of players as to require player manned cruisers and a ground field below, large enough and with enough players to justify Pelicans, Phantoms, and Scarabs. Such a thing would probably implode the Xbox. I’d love nothing more to be a passenger in a Pelican that is shot down, just for the excitement of the crash landing.

It would be awesome to see a UNSC cruiser manned by Players, to a sane degree. There wont’ be any poor Army Grunt or Grunt relegated to Keeping it Clean.

Shut up, and take my money!
OP I been having the same idea for Halo for a long time.

I was thinking something similar, but more in line with SW: Battlefront II’s space battles. Piloting heavy cruisers is a slow job, but the smaller fighter craft would be more satisfying for fast paced action lovers.

The objective, at it’s bare roots, would be to destroy the enemy ship while defending your own, but in order to keep it from being a blatant BF II rip off, I was thinking of side objective that give your team an edge or hinder the other team (this is obviously an action sack gametype).

They could include killing VIPs, taking out important enemy starships, etc.

That said, I think a middle ground between OP’s idea and BF II would be best. Make the heavy ships usable just as much as the fighters instead of having them be just floating geometry with guns on it.

That was amazing except a load of changes would make it a whole lot funner. Invasion on these type of space battle maps would be awesome.

I think not.
