Crucial updates

I’ll start by saying I am loving Halo infinite so far, the gameplay is great and feels like classic halo and new at the same time, 343 has done alot of things right. But here are some critical changes needed in my opinion;

First and most obvious, the omission of a lifetime/career stats page is inexcusable. Needs to be added ASAP. And some sort of lifetime progression (ever evolving progression rank, evolving emblem, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Would also include lifetime badges earned. Huge missed opportunity hear IMO.

Second, earnable credits in the battle pass is something every other FTP battle pass model has done, it rewards engagement and if it fits the business model, would be a welcomed change.

Other changes i’m sure are being worked on and may take time, but these would include a whole rework of the customization UI (why arent the newly unlocked cosmetics highlighted? why can’t i clearly see how to unlock something? why are there not more weapon and armor skins? game has been in development for years) battle pass xp progression changes, daily/weekly challenges, new game modes (rankes slayer? multi team?), more content overall really. Which im sure will come with time and nee updates.

I disagree.

Stats and improving the BattlePass are important but those are not the biggest issues.

The big issues are as follows, Co-op Campaign, Forge, Custom games (they are currently kinda broke), Desync/melees in general, anticheat system, Campaign features like replayable missions, but then after that I guess what you said would be highest priority.

Infinite needs a lot of things basically.

I think gameplay issues need to take higher priority than that, but i do agree these issues are serious.

Right now, the bugs are my biggest problem. Hit registration, especially for melees, is terrible. Vehicles bug out, and people near vehicles bug out. Desync is awful. Matchmaking is often broken. So many problems…

Aside from that, there’s quite a few annoying elements to the core gameplay that need fixing still. The radar is still garbage, both in range and in UI size (though customizable UI would fix the latter). Grenades are obnoxious and spamming them is way too effective for how easy it is. Vehicles still flip over every tiny little bump and are also annoyingly easily to kill with non-vehicle-killing weapons like ARs. The maps are generic, overly restrictive and boring, not to mention extremely minimal in number. Game types are also very minimal.

I think all of these issues are more important, and need to be fixed as soon as possible, because while the other stuff is annoying, it isn’t relevant to the core of the game itself.

The only thing I want fixed is the horrible server/desync/whatever you want to call it issue. It makes this game unplayable when every single game feels like lag and half your shots don’t register

they might as well say this game is still in beta

Yeah but that would be pointless. Whatever they call it is superficial stuff, what I care about is how fast it’ll be improved.

I want/hope to see some flights rolling out in January/February. Infinite needs some elbow grease to truly shine.

Fixing BTB and desync should be their main priority.
BTB by far is where the most casual audience gather and having it broken for almost 3 weeks now is unforgivable.

Have you tried setting your lobby to open? Worked for me immediately after.

The BTB fiasco is sad but I know that’ll be fixed early January so its a temporary problem. Some of the issues with Infinite may take years to fix who knows?

What’s this Lobby thing?

You have privacy settings set for your lobby, if you change it to open it apparently gets BTB to work again for most people (it worked for me!)

You move your thumbstick/crosshair over to the right when your in the MP lobby, highlight the little box with a + mark, click on it, then you press A or whatever on the menus, then you can change your privacy settings to private/friends or open. If you set it to open BTB should work for you.

Do I have any clue as to why or how this works? Nope. Just spreading the word around.

it also needs a few quarts of headlight fluid lol

That open lobby switch didnt help me unfortunately but yeah BTB and desync need to be fixed asap.

Crucial updates should start with fixing the aiming mechanics, aim assist, hit registration, adding a region filter, and overall online stability updates. Once the game plays correctly and smoothly then they can work on all the stuff you’ve mentioned.

Guess who else doesnt give you in-currency in their battle pass? Destiny!! Guess who runs Destiny? Bungie!! Coincidence? I’d like to say I think tf not.

But yea as for all the other stuff that needs to be added, I agree with pretty much everything you said. But what else can you expect from a game that announced 2 months before launch that half of their game wouldnt launch with the game on launch day? We still need forge, coop campaign, assassinations, the list goes on. I’d like to see a firefight mode added as well.

I would agree that bug issues need fixing, no doubt. And definitely more maps. I like the maps in rotation, but definitely more map content would be a welcomed addition.

My point about the stats page and battle pass stuff is that they seem like super easy fixes. I dont know anything about game development, and im not claiming to, but 343 is already collecting these stats (you can see them after every game) so how hard can putting a stat page together be!? It just seems like an oversight on their part.

Also, i cant remember which halo, but one if the games had a seemingly endless lifetime progression rank system. Every 100 levels or so you would join a new rank (1-100, and then A1-100, and then B1-100, so on and so forth), this is just a super easy way to promote engagement in the long run. Has nothing to do with the core gameplay. Also cant figure out why XP wouldnt be attached to your stats for that game?

Bug fixes, desync, other core gameplay elements should definitely be the priority, just meant these superficial additions should be super easy fixes.

remove all the delays. The game is just fighting us to even switch weapons or throw a grenade. It just destroys the experience for me. The game could feel amazing but for some reason the devs and community just want this false restriction.
I can’t even feel comfortable switching weapons.
Why delays?
why does microsoft and devs think people want delays in shooting games?
Why are people so ok with this?
