Crouch Strafing

This is a question for the people that crouch strafe in H5. So I want to start to do the crouch strafe but I dont have an Elite controller. I have the regular Xbox controller. Is there any button layout people use to to use the crouch strafe? I want a better strafe. I strafe in Halo, I just go right, left, right, left. Its effective and useful but I feel like crouch strafing is way more effective. Thanks in advance to the people who help :+1:
Edit: Thanks to all the people that gave me advice! I decided not to be an Elite controller and will try out different button layouts. I didnt think I would be one of the top 3 posts on Waypoint xD Thanks for the help guys!

No offense but maybe its cause you’re in Gold 5 in Slayer? Every few Slayer matches or so I come along some guy on the enemy team crouch strafing.

But I was platinum once and I never seen people do that at all in Halo 5.

I hate it when they do that it’s so bloody annoying.like you can’t just play normal?

Use bumper jumper.

I use Bumper Jumper.

I use bumper jumper and I remap my X to my right bumper my right bumper to my left stick and my left stick to my right bumper now you can do that with your crouch instead and itll work out fine remember remapping is a feature on these new consoles

I play fishstick but you should play claw if you want to play that layout. I recommend not sprinting, ever, and just switching your crouch to the left stick and the sprint button to your crouch button…

i just choose not to do it as aim assist basically tracks peoples heads anyway so i kill people just as easily when they do this. also most people who do it seem to have bad aim probably due to concentrating on crouch strafing. so i choose to have better accuracy

Any configuration where crouch is on the left analog, (with hold to crouch enabled), will work. While shooting, move left and right, press down and then let up the left analog, all at the same time.

Hey, not trying to be rude, just pointing something out, the ‘ranking system’ in Arena isn’t something that can be trusted. It goes off of team wins rather than your personal skill. Try not to judge people off of it. :slight_smile:
(not to mention it rarely pairs you up with people that are actually your rank.)

I’ve heard of that, to me it’s just for cheaps who call it strategically playing. But no offense OP you do you. So far all I can recommend is LOOSEN, your analog stick by a huge amount.

Also why you should loosen it.
When I loosened my analog stick, I was able to click on the analog stick more lightly for me not to mess up my movements. It was severely useful in other games.
