Edit 9/13/16: This is the crouch-strafing discussion thread, apparently. It was resurrected, somehow. If more discussion could come to this thread, by all means, discuss. If not, a lock on this would be helpful.
I find crouch-strafing less helpful than it’s worth, and that was what I wanted to convey. I did an awful job at that. So, here goes another shot:
Against some automatics, shotguns, homing weapons, or explosives, crouch-strafing does little good, since the head is not usually the main target. When using this strategy hurts your performance, it’s probably not doing you much good, and it may be worth stopping.
That’s my stance on this. Now for the far more inflamatory OP:
Dear Crouch-Strafers…
Please stop. It doesn’t work. It makes you look like a fool, and it’s making your head an easier target.
That is all.
EDIT: Yes, I know how bad I am at this game. Yes, I understand that crouch-strafing is a valid strategy. I just don’t enjoy people using this strategy as if it’s a guaranteed ticket to an instant win, then promptly dying.
Yeah they look ridiculous doing it and it doesn’t really make a difference. So why do you care if it lets you kill them easier? Wouldn’t you want them doing it more if that were the case?
it’s a completely viable strategy. I’m not gonna lie, i’m a good player, but I’ve lost an encounter or two cause he crouched under one of my bullets. My opinion is that if you can actually do the strategy proficiently, then you do you

Hey, you got your excuses & tricks and I’ve got mine, just like I’ve been bested by premature teabaggers (that’s what I call it) and they’ve been bested by me. I don’t like doing it because of my control scheme (“B” is crouch for me, so it’s too awkward), so it’s not really that I have a problem with it, it’s usually a 50/50 on whether I can figure out how to aim slightly lower, but you know, that’s pretty complicated. lol. It all depends on what gun at what distance, really. Usually the closer they are the more effective it is and more likely the shot will go over their head. That guy in the gif was just too far away for that H2 BR, you’re right.

Lol I agree, fair enough
I have one of my paddles (elite controller) as crouch. So its really easy to crouch and do everything else lol.

If pro players told you to smoke cigarettes and engage in unprotected teabagging and to jump off the bridge on the Halo 3 map Narrows, would you do that too?

I have that controller too, but I took the paddles off because I’m too dumb to re-learn how to game with them. I’m not even joking. I played through Reach, the entire MCC, and Halo 5 campaigns with them on there, got fairly comfortable, then finally jumped into matchmaking, and still screwed everything up. lol. I think after 15 years of playing Xbox and being in my 30s it’s an “old dog/new tricks” thing. I just can’t get the hang of them. Besides, I’m not that great of a player and that’s not why I got the controller; I got it because I had gone through 3 faulty standard Xbox One controllers and I wanted one of better quality that came with a 2 year warranty. But I do love the elevated analog stick for aiming.

Lol that’s funny, I can’t use the paddles for any game except Halo 5.
I take the paddles out for any other game, including MCC, because I can’t use them, it becomes ugly when I try to use them in any other game😅
It did take a long time for me to learn the paddles in Halo 5 though, couldn’t re-learn mapping different controls for another game. Kinda weird lol
